I’d say it is more about protecting the value of their product than antagonizing users. These legacy games are being licensed to people for use in commercial games. IE subscription games and even games sold in big box stores. They are just doing what you and I would do if we paid real money for a license and then saw others distributing the same ROM for free.  I don’t blame them. It hurts and it’s also part of the allure of the hobby. Supposedly the same issues are taking place with the DMD colorizations recently.  It adds more urgency to downloading a table you want and keeping backups. The tables can and do disappear never to be freely distributed again. IE “Who Ya Gonna Call” :)

Very interesting, thanks for the heads up!

After reading about 6 pages of Rom requests I have one more thing to request LOL.

My 4 year old son loves this table and would like to have the Pup Pack for this pack. It was done by Masterkai and was previously at Vpin. If anyone can help please PM me or post a link thanks!

Getting around to fixing a couple tables after updating to vpinmame 3.5.

Have the new nvram and smb3 rom for super mario bros, but when starting the game in VPX getting an error in a game info popup. Lists the files in the zipped rom and says the dsp733-2.bin file has a bad checksum state and table won't start.

Any ideas? THANKS

Did you follow these steps posted a few pages back? That's what got me going after updating.

I did.  Something is wrong with my system.  Had to replace at least 20-30 roms that were corrupted.  Got most fixed, but SMB3 still not working.  Getting CRC errors.  Chose to ignore errors and seems to be running.

I tried to play this, and despite what has been said about the files for the nvram folder on page 1, it still won't take any credit.

Start the table.

With table running, press these 6 keys in order.

Press End (This opens the coin door)

Press 7 (This toggles the service menu)

Press Left Flipper 3 times or until it selects Game Adjustments

Press Right Flipper to confirm Game Adjustments.

Press Player Start (This toggles factory settings)

Press Player Start (This selects english language)

Press F3 (This resets emulation)

Now you can add coins, and credits will go up.

You may want to also exit and restart the table.

Thanks ! It wasn't exactly like this though. No need to open the coin door, and the settings cycle by themselves indicating which button activates them.

If you are having issues with VPX telling you to check the path or incorrect rom, use this link. It has the correct rom needed. I don't know why the rom info isn't updated but hope this helps people searching for answers.

Tried all the rom files in there, and moving the nvram, nothing working with Vpinmame 3.6

What should I do if I'm using vpinmame 3.6? The only variants of the roms I can find are for 3.5 or lower. I have followed all of the instructions in the support topic, and any other advice I could find anywhere. I've tried making my own .zip Rom files for it by combining different necessary parts from different versions. I was told to rename one of the files from the smb2.zip to dsp733-2.bin and then to replace the dsp733-2.bin in smb3.zip and that also did not work. I've been working on this every couple of days for about 2 to 3 hours every session and I don't see how this is possible. It's always a checksum error on dsp733-2.bin and I can't find another .bin file to replace it, and all versions of the zip don't work.

And yes I did try creating a 2nd install of VPX with VpinMame 3.5 and no luck there either.

NEW FIXED ROMS for VPinMAME v3.6.0

What am I missing? That download has 17 fixed roms, but sadly no smb3 rom, not even an smb1 or smb2.

Maybe that download used to have it, but check it out. You'll see that the smb3 rom is not included in the 'New fixed roms for vpinmame 3.6.0'

If you use vpinmame 3.5 then it works?
You delete all the .NV Files Related to this Game in the nvram Floder ? (Visual Pinball\VPinMame\nvram)

I didn't spend a lot of time trying to use vpinmame 3.5 because I hated the idea of having a second variant of VPX just for one table. However, I did try it and the error I got was the same error I get on 3.6. I've tried deleting the nvram so it could create its own, I've also tried using the pre-initialized nvram. I've tried smb3 roms from various websites, and when I found pinball nirvana with the 'fixed' roms I thought I was saved but no matter what I get this error:

For some reason I get the same error but the ROM works just fine

If you hit F1 do you have ignore ROM CRC errors checked

Hello everyone, sorry for bringing up an old topic. Actually, the table launches without any problems, I can add money using keys 4 and 5, but I can't start a game using key 1. I checked the keys in the script and they are the correct ones. Does anyone have any ideas, please?

vp: v10.8.1
pinnam: v3.5
