STABILITY UPDATE 1.02

 

After a long time I found some time to improve the colorization.

This will be the last update with 16 colors, grab it at the download section.

-Overall flicker reduction

-real pin2dmd hardware optimization

-mine cart mode improvement

Optimization process started with help of shifting the project to 64 colors... will take some time.

One question, any chance you can work on adding higher resolution content as well for HD DMD owners ? I know it's a ton of work, but never hurt to ask 🙂

Just a quick follow up: I successfully added a Pin2DMD rig to my IJ (real pin) and I have to say the work done on this by @NetzZwerg is just stunning. It's almost impossible to concentrate on playing because I'm constantly looking at the incredible colorization Martin did with this title. If you are lucky enough to have this pinball in your collection, this is the single best upgrade you can do...hands down.

Adding HD content is something different than finding the right colors for given pixelart. You basically need to redraw the content and add more details. Maybe hiring a pixel artist would be a nice idea https://www.fiverr.com/search/gigs?query=pixelart

Currently I am enjoying the fun of 64color shifts and color grading, but there is more effort needed to get it work as flawless as possible in the end. I'm resuming work on various projects and aiming to release one of them this Christmas, but I'm still not sure which colorization will win... so it remains exciting for me too 🙂
