hauntfreaks Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I couldn't agree more about the sparky model.... it looks great!
Content Provider 85vett Posted February 25, 2015 Content Provider Posted February 25, 2015 That would be Dark that modeled the head for me. The body is just an image on a ramp that is vertical. The animation is done by having a captive ball hidden under the apron. The head tracks the ball and there is a kicker that fires when the animation to move. The walls are all elastic so you get some good bouncing going on. Best part is because of this design when you nudge the game sparkys head will move with the nudge. This is thanks to JP's AFM animation for the main ship.
Loafmeister Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Outstanding! Loafesus the great has seen the future, and when this table is released, my prediction is this will be somewhat of a popular download LOL. Really superb job.
PinballPais Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Loving the updates to Sparky! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Administrators Dazz Posted February 27, 2015 Administrators Posted February 27, 2015 Everyone needs to remember that messaging table authors and asking for unreleased tables is strictly against the site rules.
Content Provider 85vett Posted February 27, 2015 Content Provider Posted February 27, 2015 Thanks Dazz. I've actually been pleasantly surprised that I haven't received any of those PM's yet :-)
wowter Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 really looking forward to this awesome table! Sad to hear that you are no longer having fun building tables....... Maybe VP10 or Unit3d pinball will reinvigorate the lust for building.... Anyway: thanks!
paulohotline Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Still looking to buy this pinball table in Canada but the US dollar is killing us! Noooooooooo!
Content Provider 85vett Posted March 3, 2015 Content Provider Posted March 3, 2015 Good news for you (bad for this board) is I heard that Stern is planning another run of Met Pro's this April. Doesn't help with the exchange rate problem but at least you know more are coming. If any can afford to pick one up this is a game I highly recommend. I've tried to mirror the real table as best as I could but nothing will replace this table from a real world experience type. It's an amazing game. I was lucky enough to pick up an LE from a friend for a great deal and I've been very pleased with that purchase.
Blashyrk Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Gives me a few months to win the lottery and buy a Metallica pin
paulohotline Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Good info to know. I guess Stern is going to pass on the Vault Edition of LOTR since that was the one rumoured to be coming out next? I am going to try and swap my pimped out LOTR for Met Pro here in Canada with a pinhead a province over. As long as I keep the purchase in Canada I won't get bit by the crazy exchange rate.
randr Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Lotr is a good table. Keep it! And also get the other one
jukedock Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Well - if its a table that will sell again then Stern will make it ! At the end of the day they have to make money and keep producing new pinball machines. I am a little gutted with the news they may be re-releasing Metallica but I suppose we have to wait until its out of production. The license will have to be renewed with the band and it depends how many $ they want out of it. That will be a key factor in producing the game. In a way I am suprised seeing they now have a new boardset to make new games with! But I dare say they will run the stock of the old PCBs down and not get any more produced. Depends how many Gary has in the cupboard. I may call my contact at electrocoin in the UK - see if he knows anything.
koolywiz Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 This sucks, i thought it would have been out of production by now, and now a re-release. This is horrible news. Been waiting so long for this table.
Content Provider freneticamnesic Posted March 21, 2015 Content Provider Posted March 21, 2015 Was reading news today that Metallica is losing money like crazy (the band not the pin) so it might still be a cheap license for Stern. I don't know how high the demand us for it, but I think if it is going to go out of production it's going to be soon.
paulohotline Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 I read on pinside somewhere today that the next vault edition will be Metallica LED. Could be a few more months before it's out of production if that happens. Noooooooo!
Content Provider freneticamnesic Posted March 23, 2015 Content Provider Posted March 23, 2015 LEDs on metallica?
luvthatapex Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 If metallica gets another release, its not as a vault edition, its just another PRO with leds. They recently did a another release of acdc pro with leds. No biggie. Vault editions are for games out if production for years like ironman.
paulohotline Posted March 23, 2015 Posted March 23, 2015 Ah ok makes sense. I thought for sure LOTR was going to be the next VE, but no news so far. That license must be a fortune now to secure with the success of the Hobbit movie franchise piling on.
Content Provider freneticamnesic Posted March 23, 2015 Content Provider Posted March 23, 2015 Ah no way it's more expensive than Iron Man.....
karlzon1 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 The table looks great great great fantastic work.
koolywiz Posted April 3, 2015 Posted April 3, 2015 For those of us that have to wait, this is sad news indeed.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted April 3, 2015 Content Provider Posted April 3, 2015 That just gives us more time to perfect the VP version, that's all.
