burger Posted April 1 Posted April 1 View File Devil's Dare (Gottlieb 1982) Physics Sound MOD Thank you Goldchicco, 32assassin, Mfuegemann and Francisco666 for creating this table! Devil’s Dare is a 1982 widebody pinball machine from Gottlieb known for its bold, arcade-style look and early use of synthesized speech. It’s a fast, challenging table with multiball action that helped bridge the gap between classic and modern pinball design. I added nFozzy physics and Fleep sounds. @studly_do_right added VR. thanks @Dicentim for DOF test thanks @DGrimmreaper for updating the VR cabinet and backglass and adding VR animations thanks @RajoJoey for the amazing VR cabinet assets! thanks @hauntfreaks for backglass assets! Enjoy! Note: this is a widebody table, so in my opinion it shouldn’t fill the whole screen on a cabinet. Leave a few inches of black at the bottom (shrink it vertically) and scoot the table up towards the backglass. You won’t notice the empty strip at the bottom while playing because you'll be too busy enjoying a good aspect ratio. SixOfTwelve Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I've never played the original, so maybe I'm using it wrong, but... are we sure the kickback is working? The left magnasave button is supposed to trigger it, right? When it's lit and I hit the button, it takes half a second and then the red lights go out, but I don't see any movement of the little metal prong beneath it. I must have tried triggering it a dozen times by now, but the ball just seems to roll over it without any kickback happening. Am I timing it wrong? For those who got it working, can you tell me where the ball needs to be approximately for the kickback to work in time? Help is much appreciated.

Yeah, turns out my timing was way off. I thought the kickback mechanism was the little metal bracket for the rollover, and that it would somehow retract and pop up again. So I kept triggering the kickback way too early. Got it working now though. Thanks again!
robertwallace Posted April 10 Posted April 10 I'm enjoying this table, but every once-in-a-while, the ball exits the left outlane and gets stuck (and vibrating) between the bottom of the left flipper and the metal guide wire (or whatever it's called). A flick of the flipper frees it. It looks like the left guide wire on this table render is placed a little further below the flipper than the one on the right side - comparing it to playfield images at ipbdb.org. In fact, they both appear a little misplaced compared to table images at ipdb.org. It's only a minor glitch that certainly doesn't interfere with this great playing table, but might be something to look into...
