Masters of the Universe - Collector's Edition (PinEvent V2, FizX 3.3)

Masters of the Universe - Collector's Edition (PinEvent V2 - FizX 3.3)

Version 1.41 (April 2026)

Masters of the Universe - Collector's Edition" has been a passion project of mine for a good 18 months. I started with Rom's classic table from 2013, and then proceeded to do a complete table rebuild with all-new code with the intent to make The Most POWERFUL Pinball game in the UNIVERSE! This is virtual pinball at a scale like you've never seen before!

First, I rebuilt it for modern FizX physics, BAM lighting, shadows and PinEvent features. With updated FizX physics, I needed to rebuild much of the layout with significant changes to how this table plays. From there I proceeded to make a completely new and massive game that lives up to the potential of MOTU and what is possible with FP-BAM in 2024! To give you an idea, the old MOTU table was 70 MB while the new MOTU CE is 846 MB just for the table file!

New Blender raytraced baked lighting and shadows combined with FP's dynamic lighting / shadowmaps / lightmaps and ray cast shadows creates a unique and gorgeous visual spectacle like no other!

All new detailed and painted models scanned from actual 80's MOTU toys are brought to life with my new custom animation code made just for this table! You've never seen pinball toys look and move like this!

The objective of the game is to complete each of the new 16 modes and get all collectables (action figures, vehicles, playsets) to become the Master of the Universe!

DISCLAIMER:

This table is a fan-made work of passion, and is NOT intended for commercial usage or to be included in any part of a commercial sale!

====================================================================

There are TWO versions of this game you can download

- the normal complete game

- the "Minimal" version

Both are identical except for a couple of differences with the "Minimal" version

- this version of the table has the entire Mega Room and all Toppers removed

- this is intended for those with low vram on their GPU or for slower PCs

- cabinet users (who do not see the VR Room or Toppers at all) can use this version as well

- choosing any Mega Room or Topper options in the script will have no effect!

- this version of table is set to the Minimal Room by default

====================================================================

This game supports up to three players!

Each player chooses a faction and a character to play in the game!

====================================================================

Physics: FizX v3.3

====================================================================

TABLE REQUIREMENTS (very important!)

- all Visual C Runtime updates

- DirectX

- Future Pinball

- the latest BAM update

- FuturePinball.exe and FPLoader.exe patched for 4 GB access

- BAM Settings files installed

- FizX 1K ball model (for more accurate physics, default.zip in BAM folder)

- the REQUIRED “Video / Rendering Options” and “Editor Options” in Future Pinball video settings

NOT TO WORRY!

All of the above is included with the latest FP and BAM Essentials AIO package!

Super easy to use for a new install, or just to update your existing install. I recommend everyone install this package to ensure you have the latest required BAM updates and other files pre-installed!

https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/14807-future-pinball-and-bam-essentials-all-in-one-complete/

====================================================================

IMPORTANT! - UPDATE REQUIRED!

This table REQUIRES a newer beta version of BAM (1.5-401) that is not yet released on Ravarcade's site.

This BAM 1.5-401 update is included with the FP and BAM Essentials AIO package version 3.3 or higher!

EVERYONE needs this new update to run this table! Simply install the latest FP and BAM Essentials AIO, and you are good to go!

====================================================================

PC HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

What options can you try if your GPU has less VRAM (around 4 GB)?

- use the "Minimal" version which uses alot less vram

- you can enable Texture Compression (in FP video settings) which greatly reduces how much vram is used

- if you use a "Start FP" bat file, then you will also need to enable Texture Compression in that file!

- enabling Texture Compression may take a little longer to load, but not much

Total VRAM usage on my PC (fresh boot of windows - only FP is running - 4K resolution)

1.4 Table = 4.5 GB

1.4 Table - Minimal = 3.8 GB

note: enabling Trilinear Filtering adds around 600 MB more vram usage)

Total VRAM usage after enabling Texture Compression in FP Video settings

1.4 Table = 3.4 GB

1.4 Table - Minimal = 2.7 GB

So as you can see, with the 1.4 update, users with a GPU with 4 GB vram now have options to play the table!

====================================================================

LOADING TIMES

With the 1.4 update of the table, I have highly optimized the table to drastically reduce load times. Combine this with the new BAM v401 update, and you see a massive difference in load times!

Load times : from "clicking play" to "ready to start playing" (Intel i5 13600K CPU)

1.3 Table (Trilinear Filtering) = 1 minute 3 seconds

1.4 Table (Trilinear Filtering) = 31 seconds

1.4 Table (Bilinear Filtering) = 20 seconds

Hi,  I cannot seem to get this working & the following error message in the screenshot appears.  I have the all in one installer with Pinup Popper frontend on one screen desktop setup.  I'm new to all this so I don't know what this means. I have the BAM version that came with baller installer November 2023 version.20241223_214201.thumb.jpg.6bc72871c18bd53eaf5b66f70bf4ec32.jpg

Read Terry's extensive instructions fully and carefully. The answers to any issues will ALWAYS be found there.  Follow the directions to the letter. Don't skip any steps.

Love the table so far. So many hidden gems.

I do have a question for you guys - is your gear motor activating in this table?

I noticed that Skeletor and Castle Grayskull popup has motor sounds but my gear motor isn't activating. all other DOF functions are working.

Terry, I am still too overwhelmed by the sheer awesomeness of this creation to leave a review.  But I promise, I will!  In the meantime, I thought I'd report what may be an unintended feature/bug of the table - when you press the start button it asks you to select the number of players, but if you had pressed the start button twice then it automatically adds a second player (i.e., selecting 1 player gets overridden and it becomes 2).  Flagging in case this is not by design.  Merry Christmas and thank you so much!

That was intentional, as those toys will be moving a lot, on their own and by button presses for toggling modes over and over again. It would sound horrible and not be good for your gear motor. Their functions for this are very different than on the older game.

You are either misunderstanding how they work (covered in the TABLE MANUAL), or your mappings in FP settings are incorrect.

Start button / key only does 3 things

- Starts the game only. It will NOT "select" Players, FACTIONS, CHARACTERS. you need to use plunger or action for that

- acts as a "Go Back". So if you are in Choose Your Faction, then it will go back to Choose Players. If in Choose Characters, it goes back to Choose Faction

- activates Power Perks during gameplay

A heads up... the "Ball Appearance" information in TABLE OPTIONS is listed wrong.

This is what it currently shows....

image.thumb.png.d65c47069156d6726b44caddf13a8928.png

These are the correct options. The code is fine and works as intended. Just use the numbers below for the correct options.

No need for the table to have a "fix" for this to work if you use the right number.

' 1 = match faction chosen (Heroic Warriors = He-Man, Evil Warriors = Skeletor, Evil Horde = Hordak)
' 2 = Chrome (normal pinball)
' 3 = He-Man
' 4 = Skeletor
' 5 = Hordak
' 6 = match faction chosen (chrome) (Heroic Warriors = He-Man, Evil Warriors = Skeletor, Evil Horde = Hordak)
' 7 = He-Man (chrome)
' 8 = Skeletor (chrome)
' 9 = Hordak (chrome)

PUP FullDMD issues for Non-English / non-US locale setups.

SOLUTION BELOW!

If your windows is not set to use English or US locale, then you may run into this problem shown in the pic. This is typical Windows local issue problems.

image.png.b58e81e1d820699ed241937175881f02.png

The solution is to add this line below to the table script under Option Explicit. Then save the table. (I'll add this to the next update for the table)

SetLocale 1033 'set region to US

VR doesn't show table items during attract and other events.

SOLUTION BELOW!

The decals, and many table items disappear during attract, start of game and ball drain, but they come back when a new ball is created.

This was caused by a DEV setting in the BAM menu that was left on and saved to the BAM settings files I have you install for VR only (I didn't see it as I used a different BAM VR folder for testing).

The solution is easy:

- while playing (in VR as it uses separate settings), open the BAM menu (~ or Q)
- make your way to the DEV Options menu
- if the "Use One Shader" settings is ON, then you'll have the missing items as shown in the first image
- change "Use One Shader" to OFF to fix the issue, and it should look like the second pic

That's it. this problem can effect any mode if this setting is on... but for some reason it was left on in the settings file I had for VR. Sorry about that. I'll have a fixed settings file in the next small update to FP and BAM Essentials AIO to resolve it.

Thank you for the responses to my earlier post, I was now able to play the table & it is great, but there is another problem.  I can't seem to finish a game, when I am a couple of balls in, the game freezes then I get booted out completely !  I'm wondering if this is because my PC has 2GB VRAM & 7GB shared memory.

Yah, that is a PC that is severely lacking in VRAM needed for this game... so its very likely you'll have problems running it based on what is detailed in PC HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS in the download description.

Then FP isn't the problem. It's whatever is going on with your Popper setup and how it's being launched, or you have Windows admin / restrictions. You should have nothing set to Run As Admin  on the exe (not FP, not Popper, not Pup, not DMDExt, etc)

All the BAT file does is set FP settings, and then run FPLoader from the BAM folder.

Errors like that are usually not running BAM correctly (from the BAM folder itself), or BAM is being restricted from working correctly (Defender, av, etc)

Future Pinball and BAM Essentials AIO

2.7 update - VR Settings fixes! - Dec 2024

  • new updated Install txt file (to act as a quick install - text only guide)
  • new "BAM Settings for VR" to replace the files from 2.6 that had an incorrect DEV setting (that caused graphics glitches, missing items in VR only)

I highly recommend everyone install this update, to ensure you have proper updated BAM VR settings files!

If you have a working install from a previous version of this AIO package:

  • then simply install the new files over your current install
  • run the "BAM Settings - VR - Reset and Install.bat"
  • run the "BAM Settings - Cabinet - Reset and Install.bat" or "BAM Settings - Desktop - Reset and Install.bat" for your setup
  • use a "Start FP" bat file (that matches your setup) to run FP at least once with the proper settings applied

Read my included updated Guides as needed for whatever info you need!

So - I have the same issue as the picture above.  It seems this was answered, but I do not see the solution (sorry).  I am up on  latest.  All other PinEvent Tables run fine, in or out of Popper.

Is this a setting a change in the FP/BAM setting before I launch this table?   Sorry for the newbie questions, it seems to work for everyone else, and this is my first error since reinstalling my cab......

Be sure you are updating / replacing your current files, and not extracting the new FP folder itself within your current folder (instead of replacing the files in your FP folder), as you may be running the old version instead (which would give errors). Read my statement about making sure you are running from the BAM folder path, and not the main FP folder path as well.

I am running through the deep dive again.  I for the update, I copied all of the folders into the FP directory and over wrote the existing.. I  run  FPloader from BAM directory, since I use the BAT file to run it.  All the other Pinevent 2 tables work.  Not sure where I am messing up, but I will keep looking and post what I find.  Thanks again.

So - I deleted the enite FP folder and stated again.  Used the all in One and now it works.

So strange, I used the Pinup Popper installer just 3 weeks ago, did the FP updates and got the Pinevents to work.   Sometimes weird files get in the mix.  And I don't know from where or why?

Terry - thanks for the advice.  Your advice to me and others helps us to look at these issues from other directions.  And keeps us positive (for me at least).

Wishing you a Happy New Year!  And thank you again.
