I’m excited to share a fresh re-imagining of SEGAs Lost in Space that keeps the fast flow and multiball madness driven layout and rule set of the 1998 table intact, but completely transforming the presentation into a comic-book celebration of Irwin Allen’s original 1960s television series. Where the original Table leaned on murky 1990 film stills and off the shelf plastic toys, this version replaces them with hand drawn character art evoking the spirit of the original show. The Playfield and plastics have been redrawn illustrating the Robinson family as well as iconic “monsters or the week” I have also re-sculpted the original B9 Robot and Jupiter 2 to match the 1960 designs as well as added the original chariot. This finally gives this fast and fun John Bord table the theme treatment it always deserved. Enjoy the multiball mayhem!!!

As always, many thanks to all the authors on who’s shoulders we stand:

Thanks to Goldchicco, TAB, devaL, 32assassin and any and all involved in the creation of this Table.

This is great, used to love this show, this version of the Table is much better than the original SEGA one in my opinion.

Visually and artistically speaking this is just brilliant! All the 3d elements are incredibly realistic, particularly the new sculpted B9 and Jupiter models. Just amazing work! Also for the art and layout on the playfield and plastics I also say bravo! The only thing that would make this particular table shine even more is to adapt some of the more modern lighting tricks. Not to get away from the main point which is this is just an incredible contribution to the hobby, thanks Dr Jones!

Holy shit! Wow — I was not expecting something like this. Absolutely
beautiful. At first glance, I honestly thought it was a real homebrew
table. What a true project of love.

I love the gameplay too — I scored 103 million on my first try. Not sure
if that’s good or not, but it was a blast to play.

There are some really nice shots, including two that completely caught
me off guard:

•   Shooting from the right flipper onto the left sling and having it
bounce up into the robot on the right — super cool.

•   That smooth orbit shot that passes between the pop bumpers and feeds
into the kicker — incredibly satisfying.

It’s a must-have.

Like Hauntfreaks mentioned in his review, a lot of people make reskins,
but not many can truly pull it off in a way that grabs my attention and
makes it feel like its own original game. This is absolutely one of
those rare exceptions.

Well done!

P.S.: I never played the original for more than a minute because of how

it looked.  This is gonna get me coming back for more for sure!

WOW!  What a fantastic job on this one!  This has to be the best looking machine in anaglyph3D.  The 3D models look incredible! The lighting you added to the Chariot ATV really pops in anaglyph3D. And the 3D characters!  Love the sound of the sling shots - it rates right up there with the sound of the sling shots in Kings of Steel.  Truly impressive work!

Out of this world, my friend.  Wow!  What an improvement.  Sega's original table was pretty boring on the art and the movie version wasn't a big hit.  I've played the table at the arcade a few times, but it never drew me in.  I've played the VPX versions and the latest one was good, but still, the theme implementation just doesn't grab me.  This on the other hand is next level.  If this were at the arcade, it would be getting many of my quarters.  I absolutely love the comic style and placement of the art.  Well done.  The table is what it should have been originally.  You have also done an awesome job with the flow and physics.  I really like it.  So far only one shot is questionable, but maybe it's supposed to be this way.  When you shoot up the left orbit at speed, when it comes around and your right flipper is up, it bounces straight to the bottom post on the left slingshot and drains.  I adjusted my play as needed, but this isn't too common in tables, and don't have a real Lost in Space to check.  Don't change for me, but just wondering. Thanks for such a fun work of art.

I virtually never get reskin tables, but this is absolutely amazing.  It is an astonishing, night-and-day difference and improvement over the original in every way.  Thanks for this!

Now we just need someone to cook up an Altsound with some matching music and callouts...  😉

vender

So refreshing been waiting for this one , now we need is the original cool music score and PUP pak !

This is a phenomenal table! Love the sound effects, lighting is spot on for my table (I literally have to edit/reduce bloom and flashers on every table these days, but not on this one!) Excellent work!

Once upon a time I made an amateurish attempt to at least pay tribute to the real LIS in the absence of any others out there. I had no experience with virtual pinball design, but I was compelled to fill the void.

LOST IN SPACE RETRO still exists as a download here, but DrJones' beautiful rendering outshines my clumsy effort, and I'm thrilled that someone finally did the table justice.  I still use the altsound I developed to remove the movie voices with this new mod.

As Dick Tufeld would say, "Well done!"

Awesome art package. Tables simple but surprisingly fun. Great job.

Excellent work, the table is very fun to play. Thank you very much!!🍻

Just amazing 🤯 I think this mod is right up there with VPW's Spiderman in that I find it to be superior to the original art in every facet. I found the original to be underwhelming and I genuinely hated the trash artwork. This is just perfect! I love all the new assets and the lighting, but I would love a toggle to replace the cool lighting near the apron with a simulated warm incandescent light, if possible.

Thank you for sharing with us ❤️

This is BEAUTIFULL!

Would be even better to have some light/darkness on the backglass... But really - stunning!

neosean99

Absolutely incredible. I had actually contemplated trying my hand at my first mod project with the original table, and throw it back to the original show. Now I have to come up with something different, because THIS IS TOO PERFECT! Awesome job!

A very nice reskin all around, a very nice piece of work.

It feels like playing on a new table - many thanks!
