It's Pinocchio - the classic novel by Italian author Carlo Collodi.
This table is inspired by several well known story elements such as Pinocchio’s growing nose, the terrible dogfish, and his quest to become a real boy.
I thought it would be nice to use a color scheme based on the Italian flag to recognize Pinocchio's origin.

I wanted to try some new ideas for this table, but my plans may have been beyond my actual ability.
I moved from creating 1970's style tables into the 1980's.
This is my first table with ramps, flasher domes, primitives I made in Blender, and LED scoring.
Just about everything could be improved, but it's good enough for a first release.  Feel free to improve anything!

Please let me know if you run into any scripting errors or other problems.  I'm certain there are a few problems.
Also, and ideas, comments, and suggestions are always appreciated.

As always, thanks to the VP development team and everyone else in the VP (and FP) community that has shared code and created tutorials so that others can enjoy creating their own tables.
I tried to put credits in the scripting, but if you see anything that I missed, please let me know and I'll add it.

A few basic objectives:

To light the center bonus lights:
SchoolBook:    Both Inlanes.  Cricket and Candle.
        - Your friends the cricket and Candlewick get Pinocchio to school.
Coins:        Both Outlanes.  Cat and Fox.
        - The lying cat and fox teach Pinocchio a lesson by stealing his gold coins.
Fairy:        Light left side F-A-I-R-Y and hit the tunnel.
        - Magic from the blue fairy brings Pinocchio to life.
Wood Carver:    Light right side R-E-A-L and B-O-Y and hit tunnel.
        - Magic in the woodcarver's workshop turns Pinocchio from a puppet into a real boy.
Circus:        Light all five circus lights.  Tightrope, Tiger, Ringmaster, Clown, Trapeze.
                - A reference to the time Pinocchio spends in the puppet show and in the circus.
Dogfish:    Light all three fish lights (Sailboat, Raft, Anchor) plus water ramp light.
                - Rescue Geppetto from the belly of the terrible dogfish.

Bonus Round:    Capture balls in either the Donkey left drain save, or in the Dogfish to earn bonus round multiball.
Donkey:        Ball Save - one chance to escape being permanently transformed into a donkey.
Dogfish:    The Dogfish can swallow up to three balls.

This table does not have the typical ball launch and plunger lane.  Instead, the plunger key launches the ball directly.
There are several real-world tables that use a "launch" button instead of a plunger, but most of them still have a launch lane.

Don't let the simplicity of the appearance fool you. this is a fun table with some incredibly interesting play elements. Love the way that story elements were incorporated into the design.

I was so surprised by the ball launch! (I won't spoil it)

Hitting the ball into the dogfish mouth, looping through the circus, hitting the blue fairy lane. So much fun.

Give this one a try!

Nice work @PinRich

I am delighted to see a table based on a classic tale that actually incorporates more than the title. The modes are all specific references to the original story, and the author did not fall into the trap of creating a revisionist view of a charming and immortal work of fiction.

I'm hoping someone shows a similar attitude toward ALICE IN WONDERLAND someday. Wonderland Amusements is on the right track with their upcoming 3/4 scale home version, but a sincere VPX version would also be welcome.

Great job, PinRich!
