Jungle Princess 2.0.0 by FrankEnstein
Info (v.2.0)

This table is based on Version 1.1 by BorgDog, starman and HauntFreaks from 2021.
Jungle Princess is the 2 player version of Jungle Queen.

For my 3rd table I wanted to tackle a non ROM based table and figure out the basics of game logic coding, scoring and visuals integration. VPX coding isn't that much different from classic EM machines, in a sense that at first glance it looks like a giant pile of wires and misplaced parts, but with some time and careful studying it slowly starts to make sense. And after few weeks of rewiring, rewriting and noodling its still a giant mess of proverbial wires at the end, but a giant mess of wires that works!
The visuals are mostly based on the assets from the originating table, just with lots of work done to upgrade them to today's standards. The source images were relatively low res so needed some AI upscaling, and a little too clean for a table that's as old as me, so I spent some time figuring out blender shading tricks to add dirt, patina, scratched out paint and metals to give it a bit more feel of a table that has seen some battles. I also had to tweak the layout and geometry of bunch of elements to bring the game play more in line with observations of physical tables as well as match real world parts.

The prerequisite nFozzy/Fleep implementations are there and tweaked to make the table hopefully as challenging as the one in real life.

As with all my tables It is recommended to set your Max Reflection Mode to Dynamic and use 64-bit GL to experience the table as intended.

You will also need a b2s (with single screen setup for screenres.txt) even in desktop mode since there are no desktop reels coded in the table itself.

The VPW team was of incredible help with testing, feedback and steering me back on the right track when I took too much creative liberties ;).
Thanks to Apophis and Bord for providing the guidance and their amazing tutorials on anything VPX (Those are gold mines of information and highly recommended for anyone dabbling in table creation.)
Thanks to HauntFreaks for updating the b2s just in time for release.
Thanks to Passion4Pins for "nitpicking" (his words) the hell out of every table property until its just riiiight.

p.s. The first screenshot is the table in VPX dialed with darker room lighting, the rest are blender renders for promotional purposes and have additional "make-up" applied (as well as coming from an older iteration of the lighting and shaders). Full refund provided for anyone that feels cheated 😛

@Frank_Enstein is on a rampage! I've "watched" him in action, absorbing knowledge from blender and vpx masters like a sponge. You are certainly a rising star, sir.

Yes, yes I nitpick and I'm glad you accept it in the spirit intended. I come from the real pin world so I'm thrilled to see you also strive for accuracy.

I also like that you are unafraid to make things maybe a little better than originally designed. The lamp coming from under the apron, for example. That was never there in real life but you saw that without slingshots there is no general illumination in the lower table area. Adding that lamp under the apon, in my opinion was brilliant and tasteful! Giving users the option to turn it on or off in the F12 menu is just downright thoughtful. Whatta guy :)
I wish I had half your talent but for now I'll just be happy to be one of your cheerleaders for a long time to come. Oh yeah, THANKS!

Cool!  I was just playing Jungle Queen IRL yesterday at a place in my area.  I came home to give it a whirl on the cab and thought it needed some updating.  Providence should have it that you released this the next day!  You're building up a good reputation!  So far all your tables have been great!  THANK YOU!

I'm honored to have been able to playtest this release. It was already one of my favorite tables, but the changes here elevate it to the next level! Truly, this is one of the most incredible tables ever released ❤️ Thank you for another masterpiece :)

Incredibly realistic, love the little hints of wear and tear like worn ball travel marks and subtle rust spots on the metal parts.  Lots of nice lighting and shadow tweaks, eg. the ball shadow as it slips past the apron light and goes bye bye into the apron drain hole.

Plays lively and smooth right out of the box, physics feel pretty much spot on.  Hopefully more EM machine tweaks to come.

Thanks.

I'm discovering your work with this table and it's perfect !

Thank you for this gem, the table itself is good and the VPX version you brought is amazing !

Love it !

Shadowsclassic

Thanks, the 2.0 version crashed on my highscore, I was hoping there would be an update/fix.  I really like how this table plays and looks.  Any chance of you doing an update to Jungle Queen, so they both match? Yes, I do keep both versions on my cab. No, I really don't know why. Haha.

Wow, I am having fun with this table, you got me back into Pancake Mode and out of VR.....for a bit :)  The table looks and plays great. The Fleep Sounds are well done and add the realism that puts this baby into my favorites, thanks to all involved.

RacerRecords

Bravo! Keep it up sir and you will soon be getting your own wheel on my machine.

Nicely done again!

Wowza!

Another beautiful table from @Frank_Enstein ...

The lighting, detailed blender models and realistic physics all come together perfectly in your work, thank you!!

Lifewater989

Another awesome recreation!  Just excellent.  Great lighting, physics, sound, playfield.  I really like the grittiness you gave it, that's a very nice touch.  If you ever encounter one these machines, there's likely no way it would ever be pristine unless it was a one off full restore.  Thanks @Frank_Enstein!  Maybe @Ext2k would like to add a VR room for us who drool over VR? ;)
