Thanks so much for a thoroughly enjoyable atmospheric pin. Fast and challenging - looks impressive and plays really well. Only downside for me is the lack of a local highscore feature....

Thanks so much Flux for this great table and the continuous updates.

Holy smokes, another Christmas?!

That is one beautiful table!

I'd write more praise but really got to run back to the cab and play it more.

UPDATE: Plays soo good. Really nice flow and could not agree more with the others, very, very worthy of a being made physical!

Peace,

Was suffering from stuttering and lag until I upgraded to the newest 10.8 beta.  Everything is smooth as butter now.  I really love the creativity that went into this project.  This isn't just video game entertainment.  This is also art (which is my highest praise for virtual tables).  Thanks for sharing this with the community.

Another great original table that I almost overlooked. Excellent shots, theme and music. The modes seem interesting as well. Now just to try and find more time to play it :), thanks!

English not being my native language, I rarely express myself on this wonderful site vp universe. But the cyber race, I must say, is the pearl that brings me out of my cave. Huge respect for the authors. The game, the circulation of the ball, the trajectories are wonderful. and I have been a pinball player since 1980. I have 5 pinball machines and keep renewing them. In short, you can send your vpx to real pinball manufacturers, they will be crazy to refuse. Spooky pinball is in my opinion the closest to the spirit of your project, which approaches in the spirit of the table, total nuclear anihilation, but cyber race is ten times better. Thank you very much for the immense pleasure that this virtual table brings.

Hi, I will move the sound to the back glass. I don’t have SSF on my system so did not notice this.

My biggest surprise for my Williams wide body cabinet since i startet with all the tables i know. That i downloaded just by seeing the screenshots. I did not expect such an amazing, fun, great sound, DMD, lights, over all gameplay. It made it into my top 100 favorites in Pinup Popper. I guess it will be in the top 50 very soon. Update - 1/14/25

I was able to get a 30,000,000 bonus raising my score to 60,000,000 (only 600,000,000 to go lol.)

I was able to unlock Luka and EZRI as well. They are similar to Godzilla's Tier 2 battles, like I guessed earlier.

Luka is both ramps and nodes I believe, and Ezri combines orbits and spinners.

I was also able to stack all 3 mutiballs together (TT, Bridge, and the Add a ball.)

The computer girl sighed, took a deep breath, and started calling out all the cool stuff that was going on, all over the table (it took a while for her to finish; sorry not sorry pretty girl.)

SO MUCH FUN!

-----Original review--------

I have a full cabinet now. I have a full cabinet, because Virtual Pinball is amazing!

It is even MORE AMAZING with a real cabinet and a powerhouse table like Cyber Race to showcase it.

This table is on my "Showcase Showdown" folder as one of the tables I "show off" to people not familiar with Visual Pinball.

This table reminds me of the movie, "Son of Godzilla;"  as Cyber Race reminds me a lot of  Godzilla's (Stern 2021) playfield.  This playfield is original, and flows really nice like Godzilla.

Godzilla is ranked one of the best pinball tables of all time. I feel Cyber Race will be ranked as one of the best original VPX tables of all time. It doesn't borrow from anyone else. Cyber Race was built from the ground up, like Dark Chaos.  Another sign of Cyber Race's greatness is that this table has been built in real life as of June 2025.

The racers (Rkar, Minnerva, Allesa, Nye, Luka, and Ezri) remind me of the Kaiju Battles of Godzilla:

Rykar is like Gigan - ramps

Minerva is Like Ebirah - Spinners

Allesa is like Megalon - Roving shots

NYE is (sorta) like Titanosaurus - Orbits and nodes

(I have not raced Luka or Ezri yet; their shots are locked from me still.)

Like Godzilla Tiered battles, 4 racers are available to race right away and 2 are locked for the next tier.

I really like the visual package that this table brings. It looks professional every step of the way. The lines flow really well, and there many various routes to complete most every race. One unique feature for the races is the "shortcut" option. As soon as half of the race requirements are met, a super skill shot opens up, UNDER the right flipper. That is nuts; almost as crazy as I feel making the shot from EITHER FLIPPER!

The playfield was carefully laid out, and I especially love the physics and heaviness of the ball. The table is fast, the ball moves fast, but never feels "floaty."

The ski pass is my favorite move on this table; the table doesn't auto jump the ball to the other flipper; the player needs to nudge a bit to get the ball across the flippers (like in real life.) The ski pass doesn't always work after completing a race (from right to left.) I like that there isn't quite enough speed to make the transfer. This keeps the player more engaged, and less on auto pilot.

I've already hit 30,000,000 a few times without finishing the second race. I am looking forward to

500,000,000 here when soon I figure out the rest of the rules (sometimes the timer will count down, and I'm not sure what to shoot at.)

My top score on Godzilla is 1.4 billion; I am looking to get 1/2 that on this table 😁

(good luck to me.)

Response from the author:

Hey! Thanks for the kind review and enthusiasm for the game.

CYRKRA

Fantastic ! Thank you for the gift, this table is beautiful and the game play really nice.

Good work guys !!

Wow!!! This is such a fantastic original design. It plays so smooth and just looks incredible. I can't even comprehend the artistry and talent that had to have gone into creating it. I almost missed downloading it because I tend to stay away from original designs, but gave it a try last night and I was blown away. This one rivals any actual, professionally designed and commercially made, pinball machine.

And I have to ask about the picture you posted in response to the review from EhEhRon. Are you saying that you actually created a physical "homebrew" version of this table as well?

The picture looks like it may have been from Pinball Expo in Chicago. I know at that pinball show they always have a section of the showroom floor dedicated to people that bring actual (i.e., not virtual) pinball machines they have designed, built, and programmed on their own. Is this what you did as well? If so, I am in awe.

I can't believe that this accomplishment hasn't been mentioned or asked about by anyone else after you posted the photo. It is truly amazing.

Loafmeister

Somehow I posted on the original release but never posted a review. Allow me to correct this grievous oversight

As indicated in my previous comments @flux, what a job you and your fellow contributors have done.  This is without a doubt one of the most polished original table releases I've ever seen.  Graphics/sounds/,music used are great but also integrate so well into the theme used. The modes are fun and pretty deep, after two years I have trouble beating 3 characters within a game, though I need to revisit this more now that I'm playing at 144hz (it absolutely makes a difference!).  The look reminds me of a Gottlieb pin of the late 80's but wayyyyyyy better.

Only recommendation would be for some music to play once its booted up as part of the visual attract mode and after a game is done.  Now I've not checked out the latest version released today but didn't spy any change in the release notes relevant to this.  But really this is true nitpicking at its best.

I still cannot get over how mature the design itself is.  For originals, I think the two best VPX original tables that would be awesome to see converted into a real pin are this one and Apophis' Dark Chaos so.... it's awesome to read elsewhere you've converted yours and Apophis is working on his.  I would love to see a WIP on your part on this adventure, how long it took, what were the challenges and seeing if you've had to revisit many aspects of this VPX version as part of the challenge of making the real table.

Once again, thank you. It's hard to say "this is my favorite original" because in the last few years, we've had sooo many great originals released.  But yours is up there, if not at the top, likely always in the top 3 with number 1 dependant on if my wife cooked me pancakes that morning.  I hope we are graced by another of your creations somewhere down the road because you are an author that "gets" what makes a pinball game both look, sound and play great.

I think I've been hiding under a rock for the last two years....

just found this beauty today with the update.

Installed and played it...WOW....just WOW....

Plays and looks amazing....
(only 5ball/game option would be nice with my flipper skills 🙂 )....

But what a great table, thank you!
