vampirolatino2 Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Got a quick question guys, What service/website do you guys use to make the pcbs? They are a lot in the marked, but I want true and honest fedback from the pros. Btw, black pcbs are damn sexy!
grandDD Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 only good news ...............super ............. good luck for welds
Rappelbox Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 I used elecrow from China. For good comparison you can use pcbshopper.com
Jafjas Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Looks good! I'm so excited. Hopefully you get all the part complete soon. The black pcb's indeed look great. Will you include the square plastic frame that comes with the displays so that we can make a first mounting frame out of it like Randr did? Seems like a good first quick solution. Can't wait for the next update! Good luck! Best regards, Jasper
Rappelbox Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 https://youtu.be/zPxlXH3mm4A I'll post another "preview" today evening or tomorrow. Afm is one of my favorites and is so fu...ing beautiful. Also I will send you payment information these days. I only have very little time the next 2 days because I'm on staff training. Yes, the original frame will be sent to you as well Greets, Dom
Jafjas Posted November 22, 2015 Posted November 22, 2015 Oooooh I'm so exited! Looking very good and I can't wait to see the next video. I'll pay you as soon as I have the payment information! Thanks! Regards, Jasper
Jafjas Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Hello! Don't want to push but is there any update on progress? I'll pay as soon as payment info is send. Beste regards, Jasper
Rappelbox Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 Oh boy, you're not pushing maybe a little I'm still waiting for the card-readers and the second batch of displays. In the meantime, I'm soldering as much as I can. 162 solder point for each board... Greets, Dom
17Al3x17 Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 yeah it's very cool ! When you think send the first PCB assembled ?
Jafjas Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Oh boy, you're not pushing maybe a little Sorry for that Thanx for the update, gives me more to drool on hehehehe. Assembled it looks so cool and tidy! Nice! Greets, Jasper
bitmind Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Hi Dom, do you have any PCBs left (the 9,50 euro sets)? I would like to order 3 of those shipped to The Netherlands. My screens are already on their way and I will order the STM32F4 boards from farnell. ( http://nl.farnell.com/stmicroelectronics/stm32f4discovery/stm32f407-usb-otg-discovery-kit/dp/2009276?ost=2009276&mckv=saV3cqEFi_dc%7Cpcrid%7C101994551167%7Ckword%7Cstm32f4discovery%7Cmatch%7Cp%7Cplid%7C&selectedCategoryId=&CMP=KNC-GNL-FNL-GEN-SKU-MDC&gclid=Cj0KEQiA-NqyBRC905irsrLr-LUBEiQAWJFYTqFJ6-MKRioN_7di_aFjYEaskzSHqT8Plv_RYD8sVHcaAj8Y8P8HAQ) The soldering looks pretty straightforward so I don't expect any problems there. If you don't have any unsoldered sets left. Please keep in mind I would like 3 when ordering new PCBs and parts. Thanks.
Rappelbox Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 I can tell you this evening, atm I'm on the road...
Content Provider UncleSash Posted November 26, 2015 Content Provider Posted November 26, 2015 Oh boy, you're not pushing maybe a little I'm still waiting for the card-readers and the second batch of displays. In the meantime, I'm soldering as much as I can. 162 solder point for each board... Greets, Dom Well done looks not so bad... The Headers are under the STm Board! You are not able to connect or disconnect the Cable to/from the DMD. Only when you remove the STm Board! And the STm Board is not 100% connected.
Rappelbox Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 Jepp, exactly! It works, I tested it, and the stm32 is connected correctly but ONLY if you remove the cable relief. I did that and it works like a charm. Second revision of my board will have several changes. Greets, Dom
Rappelbox Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 This is how it looks like... Functionality: 100% Design: maybe 20% I'm very sorry for this faux pas, it shouldn't have happened. Greets, Dom
Jafjas Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 F*ck!!! How could this happen?! Just kidding, as long as it works I'm in for it. Still looks the bits! Jasper
bitmind Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Dom, To be honest. I really don't care if the PCB design is "flawed" as long as the functionality is 100%. So my request for the 3 PCBs still stands. If you don't have any left I'll have to wait until you order V2. I will probably order a few V2s as well when you get those made (I liked the idea of unclesash with regard to the extra "topper"-connections on the PCB by the way).
Rappelbox Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Thank you for your support and trust in my work! I appreciate that very much. Bitmind, you're in the first batch, I have some boards in spare. Greets, Dom
17Al3x17 Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 For me, if your PCB is 100% functionality and if is " just " the HUB75 connector can't be removed if the card is placed, is not a problem The main is the STM32F4 is securely fixed on the PCB. Alex
Rappelbox Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Oh yes, the board is absolutely secure. It's only the hubs that are causing a little trouble. As said before, it is functioning as expected.
