Frostbyte424 Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Has anyone tried to use video capture software to show off their table collections? I've tried Debut Video Capture and Movavi Screen Capture Studio. Both were able to capture video from the screen just fine, but the table bgm and sound effects were absent. To clarify, I could hear all sound effects specific to Visual Pinball software, but any audio presumably coming from PinMAME (background music, or other sound effects and audio cues) does not record. If you've had any luck, I'd appreciate software recommendations as well as settings that need to be included for the "full experience".
Content Provider freneticamnesic Posted March 22, 2015 Content Provider Posted March 22, 2015 I use Camtasia Recorder, it's not free though. It has given me no issues with sound recording or video recording.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted March 23, 2015 Content Provider Posted March 23, 2015 I use Hypercam2. Don't know about audio though. Never tried it.
Frostbyte424 Posted March 23, 2015 Author Posted March 23, 2015 K - I think I figured it out. So I did manage to find out that you need to set your speaker configuration to Stereo in order for bgm, etc. to get picked up by the recorder. This appears to be true for all the recorders I've tried, which include HyperCam as well as those previously mentioned. Thanks for the input!
HorsePin Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Best for capturing at any framerate is OBS. Free & the best. https://obsproject.com/ I'm going to link this up as a command in PinX-Check so you can launch a table & capture it for your Video Preview. Make your profile(capture settings), choose to launch in PinXCheck with OBS and it will load, capture to mp4 for 30 seconds or whatever you set and will save in the right directory for you.
Content Provider Rascal Posted April 1, 2015 Content Provider Posted April 1, 2015 I use Apowersoft Screen Screen Recorder. There is a online version and a download version. I use the download version. Simple and it does the trick. http://www.apowersoft.com/free-online-screen-recorder All my recordings of vp on my you tube channel are done with it. https://www.youtube.com/user/rascal514/videos
Content Provider CarnyPriest Posted April 1, 2015 Content Provider Posted April 1, 2015 I have an AutoHotkey script that uses ffmpeg with gdigrab for VP and OBS for FP. http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/15207-capture-videos-to-pinballx-media-table-backglass-and-dmd/page-3#entry139563
Moritz Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 When I record a video and place it in videos folder, pinballx plays the video upside down, how can I fix that?
mpad Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 I bought fraps a time ago. Kinda old school but reliable. And very tiny.
