Cabinet Build "pinball"

Hello everyone!

I want to share some pics of my current pin cab build in this forum.

I had a lot of inspiration from different threads so i also want to share my work at the cab.

For the play field i use a Samsung UE46f6170 and for the backglas a Toshiba 32" Tv.

The wood work was really easy for me, i did some changes so the Tv fits perfect also for the back box but overall

its basis is the wide body plan.

Its not finished yet, the hole cable work is left but this should not be a big problem... :).

I allready want to thank cyclemat and his awesome arduino project (http://vpuniverse.com/forums/topic/927-lwclone-on-arduino-mega-2560/)

Also Sven from the http://www.vpin-shop.de who helped me a lot and anwered all my ridiculous questions ;).

Of course also all who shared there cabinet builds and gave me so much inspiration and motivation for my own cab.

So lets start with some pics...

First i started with a quick sketch to see if everything fits...

Pinball

In my spare time i also like to work with photoshop, so i created a artwork with my favorite pinball characters...
The black frame should "hide" the side rails...

As i sad, wood work was fun for me (i´m a joiner), against the most builds i decided to cut the edges in 90 degrees.

I don't think its necessary to cut in a 45 degree angle.

Unfortunately i had to make the coin door again, like you can see in the picture, because i replaced the usb connector to the right side under the gun (this fits better to the artwork).

The Artwork is a high quality print, normally used for traffic signs... (no bleaching and also water resist)

i am in love with your artwork, it's dark, with a manor, and good contrast, everything that i like, i wish you would share the big images :)

for the glass, you need one that can break in multi milli peces so you don't damage the screen if the worst ever happens, 5 mm is the maximum that the rails can handle

Thanks Arngrim, i will take care of it when i order the Glas.

The artwork was so much work. I really had a lot headache about the measurement- this really sucks in Photoshop. The Problem with the black frame was that it should be centered. So happy that it worked out so well especially for the coin door and the Start/back buttons (to stay at the electrified antenna and not in his face... ;))

Here´s a small update and some new pics of course. We recently started with cable stuff. The most of the job does my neighbor.

He is a professional and i´m more in a trainee position ;).

Before we started i made a small box for the shaker motor...

Here is a second picture of the tv panel, now with all cables under the wood frame..., the wood frame sits on the crossbars

in the cab...

I use a joy warrior sensor for nudging, you can see it at the far right side. It holds with a magnet..., works great so far.

Also i glued some "car" letters on the dmd panel..., on the picture it doesn´t look centered, but it is ;)

And finally some pics of the cable management, a lot of work is left. For now i have to pause a few weeks (to much work in my job).

sorry for the late reply!

I´m not shure if this board is something for the community but if anyone has interest i can share it.

The only problem are the connections. These can handle my toys in the cab so i´m not sure how it would work with "different" parts of other manufactures.

Also the connectors are placed to my behavior of the build. On one of the pictures you can read "rechte seite" what means right side - this contains right flipper input, right magna input, plunger input, coin switch from the door, coin switch from the button, left flipper contactor out, left slingshot contactor out, light bulb for coin button, light bulb for coin door).

But to answer your question, basically its an ledwiz with an ipac (for those two i use the arduino on top of it) with all needed resistors/transistors for

Shaker

8 - 24V contactors (24V power supply connector)

5 Cree RGBW LEDs (the white are the strobes - so they have one channel) (via 5Volt connection from the pc power supply)

rgb stripe for undercab ambilight

beacon (led)

replay knocker

Lights for Start/Exit/Coin Button/Coin Door

and of course all inputs needed for playing.

If things go well i will finish my build upcoming week and then i can post a youtube video with some details...

cheers

Hi, it is absolut amazing.

Is there a chance, you could give me the artwork for my privat home cabinet, which I'm building currently?

Thank you in advance

I´m glad you like my build and i hope you found some inspiration for yours. A lot of people allready asked me for the artwork, but i´m sorry to say that i don´t share it. You can ask stuzza over at vpforums if he could do a custom artwork that fits perfect for you.

There are a bunch of themes who are inspired by mine.

best wishes
