burger Posted June 22, 2025 Posted June 22, 2025 View File 2001:A Space Odyssey (Original 2025) "Open the coin door, HAL." 2001: A Space Odyssey is a 1968 epic sci-fi film directed and produced by Stanley Kubrick. HAL 9000, the machine that murdered his crew, is back—and this time, he's inside a pinball machine. Relive the nightmare through brutal multi-balls and relentless boss fights. Or let HAL play… just press RightMagnaSave at the attract screen. Thank you @GtecArcade– Massive thanks to GtecArcade for the phenomenal PUP Pack! His work doesn’t just enhance the table—it transforms it. The cinematic detail, timing, and atmosphere he brings are truly next level. This project wouldn’t be complete without his incredible contributions. @hauntfreaks– Created a backglass that makes me feel as though I'm at the helm of a spaceship exploring the universe! Thank so much! @Tombg – Huge thanks for your expert help with GI lighting, flashers, primitive animation, coding support, and all-around improvements. Your technical skill and readiness to jump in made a world of difference. Je n’aurais pas pu le faire sans toi ! @cl4ve – Big thanks for the fantastic improvements, thorough testing, and the awesome wheel image. @Supergibson – Invaluable coding support and testing, plus honest feedback and creative ideas that helped shape the final result. Truly appreciated! @Dr.Nobody – Beautiful PUP overlays—thank you! @Igic – Thanks so much for all the testing and the great wheel images! @Hursty – Incredible FullDMD display—amazing work! And a huge shoutout to the @SuperTilted group for their ongoing support! Info: Press Right MagnaSave at the attract screen for HAL to play the table automatically. Press Left MagnaSave during gameplay to change the song (non-PUP version only). Wheels, rule card, and FullDMD media files are included in the media pack file for download. 3 or 5 ball game option set in script (threeballoption=3 or threeballoption=5) has hardware DOF for solenoids. To disable hardware DOF set HardwareDOF=0 in the script To disable UltraDMD, set ultramode = 0 in the script. the one table now works for both PUP and non-PUP (change to usePUP = true or usePUP = false on line 13) To view the PUP, in the table script change to usePUP = true on line 13, and you will need to head over to GtecArcade's post to grab the PUP Pack: https://vpuniverse.com/files/file/25887-2001-a-space-odyssey-pup-pack/ Submitter burgereater289 Submitted 06/21/25 Category VPX - Pinball Tables VPX Standalone No
Allan1130 Posted June 23, 2025 Posted June 23, 2025 I am having a problem with the game. It seems, I can get only a one person game. How do you set it for a 4 player game? Currently, it accepts one player only. Don't know why.

cursethrower Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 This table looks awesome. I'm new to VPX and don't really understand the scripting side of things-- when I go to launch the table (non-PuP version) it throws the runtime error "(Line 1562) Variable is undefined: 'rolling.' I downloaded the PuP version to see if it had whatever is missing, but it also throws the same error. Any help would be appreciated! Excited to try this one out.
deadmanworking Posted June 24, 2025 Posted June 24, 2025 @cursethrower please check that you have the latest VPX and VPinMAME versions?

I normally don't like to suggest vpx or vpinmame versions as a first resort, but in this case that's all I can think of, mainly because so many have played it successfully without this error. I don't think we tested this game with anything before version 10.8

EyeNStine Posted September 2, 2025 Posted September 2, 2025 I am trying to use both versions, and when I run the non pup version parts of the pup still launch
burger Posted September 2, 2025 Author Posted September 2, 2025 (edited) if anybody has issues with certain sounds still coming through their exciter or haptics, the version linked in this message has resolved this sound issue for at least one person, so maybe it will work for you. If you are using pup you will need to change line 10 of the script to usepup=true. Please comment if this works, if so, I will make this the official version sometime soon <link deleted> Edited November 28, 2025 by burgereater289
rkader Posted September 16, 2025 Posted September 16, 2025 (edited) No so much to get support but to help others that face the same annoyance that has been bothering me for a while. The DMD never closes at table exit. To fix this, just change the table_exit sub line to this: sub table1_exit:Controller.stop : UltraDMD.Uninit : End Sub Edited September 16, 2025 by rkader
