lipslide Posted Friday at 09:18 AM Posted Friday at 09:18 AM Amazing work! It looks and sounds so good. Physics also seems very good.
coiken Posted Friday at 09:32 AM Posted Friday at 09:32 AM This looks and sounds absolutely stunning! Can't wait to give it a try and see if it plays as well as it looks, no doubt on my mind it will! I'll happily vulanteer for the Beta test!
rkader Posted Friday at 09:44 AM Posted Friday at 09:44 AM Don't want to sound heretic but since I've just seen Dracula ... HOLY Spookyness That looks and sounds cool. Can't want to se that lighting in VR either!
Content Provider Schlabber34 Posted Friday at 10:42 AM Content Provider Posted Friday at 10:42 AM Blender can't keep up with this! Amazing work guys!
foofoorabbit Posted Friday at 12:59 PM Posted Friday at 12:59 PM (edited) Yeah, this is essentially Blender in real time. With a good GPU the tables will undoubtedly look at least a bit better than VPX tables with baked textures. The lighting should be a lot more realistic in VPE also with ray tracing. mota2018regen Posted Friday at 05:29 PM Posted Friday at 05:29 PM Freezy, I’d say you should go ahead and ask NVIDIA for a couple of shares in the company—a bunch of us are going to be upgrading our GPUs thanks to you!
BostonBuckeye Posted Friday at 11:01 PM Posted Friday at 11:01 PM Freezy, congratulations on being close to releasing a beta. You are amazing! You have put in years of hard work on this. It has always looked amazing to me. Hopefully my 4070ti and 13th gen I9 can handle it. If not I will be upgrading in order to play these tables in VPE.

Can't want to se that lighting in VR either! Just to avoid any confusion, the video I posted was of me playing VPX VR with realtime environmental audio effects courtesy of my Realtek audio chip. I wasn't using VPE in case you thought that. FYI you can get started very cheaply with VR by purchasing a secondhand Quest 2, however I'm running a Quest 3 with an RTX1080ti which does surprisingly well in VR, especially with the latest VP 10.8.1 revisions which greatly increase performance.
Content Provider gear323 Posted Friday at 11:47 PM Content Provider Posted Friday at 11:47 PM This looks excellent. I expect you will have no shortage of volunteers for beta testing. However, if you are still looking for additional testers, I would be happy to assist. I can do thorough testing along with detailed feedback. I currently run VPX on two systems: System 1 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D (16 cores / 32 threads, 4.3 GHz) Controls: PinOne Mini with DOF, or keyboard / Xbox gamepad System 2 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K Controls: Full PinOne cabinet with DOF, SSF, DMD EXT, Ultra DMD, Popper, shaker, blower fan, LED lighting, etc. I would be happy to assist. If you get VR going at some point, I also use Meta quest 3 on both systems and use it with VPX quite often. Oh, and I used to own a T2 for many years!

I was also thinking about adding VST support so players can add whatever effects they like. Maybe in v2 If the beta version is released, will there be a table to test?

I’d imagine freezy’s T2 table (at the very least) but I have no idea if there are others that are already building tables in secret. I’ve always had Magic Girl in the back of my mind ever since one VPX project was cancelled (I presume it was using the assets for the VPE version… but that was looong ago so I’m not sure what the story was.) Based on what Freezy says, you might actually be able to build one yourself sooner than you’d imagine, since many aspects are being automated and made configurable via parameters. That’s what really excites me about this project—beyond the quality of the graphics engine. In the current VPinball, it’s extremely difficult to create a table if you don’t know anything about scripting or programming. No matter how many hours you pour into it—I’ve experienced this myself—the quality just never felt good enough. From what I’ve seen of the progress on VPE and what’s in the documentation, you can visually configure everything—even the springs on the mechanical toys... fantastic!!!
Dariusz75 Posted yesterday at 05:11 PM Posted yesterday at 05:11 PM Also porting existing VPX tables should be quite simple.
freezy Posted yesterday at 06:51 PM Author Posted yesterday at 06:51 PM Thanks for the nice comments, you guys are awesome! ♥️ I need to wrap up some things, then I'll start with a private alpha to get first feedback, and a public beta once it feels aright. If you're not on the VPE Discord already and you want to participate in the alpha, PM me and I'll invite you. Don't worry if I don't reply back immediately Yes, of course a beta without tables would be kinda useless. There will be T2 and Volley, and maybe I'll manage to slip in another, we'll see. There are few more in the pipeline. Cheers!
Dariusz75 Posted yesterday at 07:23 PM Posted yesterday at 07:23 PM (edited) I think this year's christmas will be very happy for pinball fans, even for those with not so high-end hardware😀 Edited 19 hours ago by Dariusz75
