Something weird, what to do? (SOLVED, for now)

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi all,
i need some advice for the following problem,
i had all my tables working with PinballX, added 1 extra button (asigned to ESC)  to my controler box to exit table and go to menu, this worked like a charm.
but after a few hours of playing i start noticing that the sounds were doubling up/echoing and random scores/ball count apear.
on a few tables like "Jungle Girl" and  "Elvis"
what could cause this problem?
if i need to attach a game file please let me know wich one and i will add it here

thanks in advance

* i restarted my pc
*i have the same problems if i dont use PinbalX but direct from FP
*i tried to change video settings
*I deleted the table file and replaced it with original one (from my back-up drive)
*it is a 2 screen set up (playfield and backglass)"cabinet style"

Don't use ESC or any key / button that is used by Future Pinball (or VPX). By using Esc you are causing confusion because now you are having both FP and PBX trying to close FP at the same time which can cause it to not close out cleanly, which can also cause things like DOF or PUP to not close out correctly. This is a common issue for all front-ends.

Use a different key / button not used by FP at all to act as your exit button.

i understand, but the problem is without using a frontend.
and i just downloaded a few new tables and tested them in Future Pinball and all 8 tables have the same problem, sound is looping / echoing , i tried a lot but nothing seems to fix the problem.

When I get odd sounds coming from an FP table, I usually need to place a check mark in the Vertical Sync option on the preferences menu.

Install this, and follow the included FP and BAM Install Guide. Using the exact required settings for FP and BAM. It matters, as it can prevent crashes and other odd things.

When not using a front-end, use the included "Start FP" bat files to run FP for the setup / tables you are using.

Terry legend,
i downloaded the zip file, unpacked en copyed everything in existing folder, opend up install guide, walked it through... and what a wonder, i got it properly running.
i guesse i messed up somewhere with the latest update ( end of december ).. but it's working now even with PinballX front end.

Thanks again everyone
