Trident is one of those tables I played a lot in my mid-late teens back when it was a cutting edge machine (yes...I AM that old!). I love that era of Stern (and Williams and Bally) machines. Things in the Solid State tech were just starting to get interesting. New table layout features were appearing. All in all a very exciting time for pinheads the world over.

I've been craving a VR version of this table for ages, and had been playing the non-VR version on my Quest3 in the absence of a proper VR version.

Enter this version by HauntFreaks - it is simply great - it instantly transports me back to that grubby takeaway in 1979, and maybe makes me feel like a teenager again to boot!

Thank you for your beautiful work guys! You've made a 61 year old fart in Australia very happy!

Best regards from Down Under!

Thank you for making this!!! I used to play Trident in my old arcade, and it was next to a Lectronamo and a Meteor, so that was a pretty good half-wall of games. Awesome!

This table caught me by surprise. Never heard of it before. That backglass got my attention though,  and I soon took it for a spin.  What a cool theme, and the table is super enjoyable too.  It looks and plays great. Very well done guys!!

It looks so beautiful and colorful 😍

I love these old school crafted tables where you can change anything, yet  this one is almost perfect out of the box. Those shadows on the targets look really cool. Amazing job, fellas!

Excellent authentic recreation. Looks and plays great, and isn't one of those super-dark tables designed for cave dwellers! 😀

Wow, amazing, this looks and plays beautifully, thanks so much, and for the lovely new Backglass.

Stern 80s (ish) table -- love it.  This feels like a faster version of Ali (and Ali is one of the greats from this era, or really any era).  I think it feels faster because it isn't a wide body. Anyway, hit targets to build up values rollovers, spinners, etc.  Then let 'er rip!  Or drain, whatever the case may be.

This has great physics, a nice VR room with underwater themed wallpaper, an excellent table from the great Mike Kubin (Seawitch and Warlok are some others you may recognize).

Anyway, get this.  Play it.  Amazing in VR.

One of the best looking and playing tables on my system...I get 160-180 fps on max detail. (AMD Minipc)

Been yearning for an up to date VP version of Trident and this ticks all the boxes. Those pop bounces definite challenge my old man reflexes!

Thanks to HF and all contributors. One minor thing - saturation option in the F12 menu doesn't appear to trigger any changes.

You know, I had a chance to buy this pin in real life for $1000 a couple of years ago.  I ultimately passed b/c I figured TRIDENT not good enough to be the only pinball game in a collection....

...But I still think about/regret not picking it up.  Well, not anymore as HauntFreaks and 32assassin have reproduced it so well here that I no longer have non-buyers regret!

So thanks guys for all the hard work on this interesting pin!

Hello the team,

Beautifull work! Fun and nice!

Thank you

What a pleasant surprise, haven't heard of/played this table before that I can remember but it's right up my alley. She is clean with a nice layout and fun to play......especially in VR 😋 I did find the mechanical sounds lacking but turning up everything in the sound manager .5 helped quite a bit. Not a negative thing but a quick fix for anyone else who may feel the same. Thanks for this guys!! Oh, and the backglass is purdy too :)

Works, once you rename the bins inside the trident.zip accordingly.

CPU_U2.716 > 25AROM_P12AU.U2
CPU_U6.716 > 25AROM_P12AU.U6

Running a current nightliy build with libmame on macos

Response from the author:

hum.... that's very very odd... I did none of that... just worked out of the box... from the day I started upgrading the table....very very weird...
