Stern's 2008 Batman is a fun game that draws its strength from the quality of the game rules. Not exactly the golden age of Stern art direction, the layout would be revisited and refined years later for the truly classic Batman '66.

 

This mod features rendered textures & lighting, the requisite nfozzy/roth physics, fleep sounds, etc, etc.

 

Built on the tt/ninuzzu release with further contributions as follows:

  • Physics/Sounds/Rendered textures by bord
  • playfield and insert cleanup, script fixes by apophis
  • flashers fixed, VR added by sixtoe
  • lampz implemented by iakki
  • script fixes by wylte
  • playtested by many - the vpinball crew initially, later the VPW crew especially RIK and pinstratsdan

'1.08 Niwak - Fixed issue on VPX for this table and went a bit further to see how physic output would look.
'1.09 DaRdog81 - VR Mega Room added to previous v1.08, VR Mega room resized for normal sized people ha, VR batman model added, VR layers reorganized (VR_Cab, VR_min, VR_Max), collections updated, VR scripting updated, VRMega rear legs leveled, VR layers hidden on desktop mode, fakeball script fix from apophis.
'1.10 apophis - Updated physics scripts and flipper tiggers. Automated VRRoom. Organized layers. Updated Lampz and Flupper Dome stuff.
'1.11 Niwak - Use new SolCallback2 to avoid stutters, adjust alpha test of DecalDropRamp004 (Prims Off of drop ramp)
'1.12 Retro27 - Reworked DMD decal for VR Cabinet
'1.13 Niwak - Revert SolCallback2 since VPX provides an integrated solution now
'1.14 Niwak - Fix staged flipper switch overlay
'1.15 apophis - Added bakery2Rsling to flash182 effects
'1.16 apophis - Fix VR backglass light tracking with GI. Added bakery2Rsling003 to flash182 effects.

Sorry, guys. Still isn't fixed. That code solved the line 510 issue, but now there's a line 511 'fakeBall is missing' one with it.

Great table, thanks! I can't find any colorization, did it exist at some point or never?

No colorization for this one.  Terranigma maintains a list of all available colorizations if you're ever unsure!

Anyone else got Problems when in Scarecrow Attack Multiball ? When i push the right Flipper Button it counts a hit on the Crane without hitting the Crane. Left Flipper is normal acting. Easy Multiball completing 😁, but i think thats not intended so. Any Tips are welcome

 

edit: Tested with Skitso Table ---> same Problem, tested with older VP-Versions ---> same Problem

Solution from Discord:

The problem is the new staged flippers key passthrough.  The table doesn't have an upper flipper, but has the same reuse of switches as Avengers  https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=43377&p=526405

The staged flipper keys were just added to the VPX8 beta for activating those switches, so it's a new behavior that those signals automatically get sent (thus the code telling it not to).

Nice! Thanks for sharing that Cliffy. Yours has green in it, the one you shared is yellow and white primarily, like the one on the youtube video Bord shared at the beginning of this comment thread. Is it supposed to look yellow and white or is it supposed to have other colors in it like your green one in the screenshot you posted?

Thats the actual pal I'm using so it could be you have a different set of dmddevice.dll's. I'm using Freezy's for now since Lucky1's stopped triggering pup packs on some tables.

@bord this is an incredible update. More than just an update I'd say. Thanks! On the vp required tab it's showing 10.7 but I have a feeling this should be changed to 10.8 no?

Thank you for the update, what does this mean "Revert SolCallback2 since VPX provides an integrated solution now". What setting in the vpx provides this?

We were testing new features in VPX (using the table as a test bed). It’s a low level note that you don’t need to worry about :)
