Hello,

You has to edit VPMAlias.txt in your vpinmame folder and add the folowing line :

 

geniecbbb,genie

I've already done this, I keep getting an error.

Update Vpinmame to latest version

Or

Replace in script line 681 (cgamename) with ("genie")

 

This line is needed because wedge10 disabled the original Rom sound so he can use his own sound effects.

But at table exit the Rom sound will be reenabled.

I have the latest version of pinmame, I'll try your other option to see if that works.
