What is your opinion of DOF devices? Are they really worth the cost and effort? DOF Hardware recommendations? Would the money be better spent on VR?

My original build intent was "keep-it-simple".

 

I seem to be slowly straying from that approach... 

 

I've received all the parts I ordered for the SSF install (sound card, 2x stereo amps, 4x exciters). But, I'm having some friends over this weekend, so I have to put off the install until next weekend.
