Hello everyone, here we are on summer vacation, so what could be better than a little game of JAWS?

Jaws is certainly my favorite original table, the work done upstream is considerable.

I also advise you to use the corresponding puppack which immerses us in the atmosphere of this exceptional film.

 

I hope no one will feel offended by this sharing and the changes made. If so let me know I will remove this post. Indeed most of the original authors, Rom, SLAMT1LT  and RANDR are no longer on VPU or VPF.

As far as I'm concerned, I've made a lot of changes, sometimes in the details but in short, new playfield and new platics...

I tried to stay faithful to the original table while making some improvements (in my opinion)

I can't get a good look at the DMD. Either it appears behind the desktop or with very large fonts in front without the appearance of a scorecard.

Where? The DMD or the desktop appears to me, with Alt+Tab I see one or the other. But the DMD does not add points. As if they were not linked.

if I move the scoretext (image) it appears but it only says "visual pinball", it is different to the DMD..

The Barrel Multiball does not work for me. It will trigger the message that Barrel Multiball has started, and all the lights will flash, but no extra balls will appear on the playfield. I have tested this multiple times with the same results.

How do I get the pup pack to work with v2.1? I believe I have the correct version of the pup, I've popped it info the PUPVideos folder, but it doesn't seem to be recognized.

 

Any tips on getting it working?

This table does not use a rom therefore no pup dmd capture for triggers. Pup stuff is all in the table script. Are you running a cab or desktop?

I have 2 screen cab. I see the pup stuff in the table script, and the cGameName is Jaws, which matches the folder name in the PUPVideos folder. Are there changes I need to make in the table script?

the only change you might make is for the scoring. You can choose ultradmd (default) Pupdmd (what I prefer) or post pupdmd

You should put a copy of PinUpPlayer.ini in the jaws pup folder and edit it to match your screens

@Cliffy copying the PinUpPlayer.ini into the Jaws pup folder did the trick.

@Cliffy I spoke too soon. Tried it out on my cab yesterday, and only the PUP DMD is displayed, it doesn't show the overlays or any of the clips while the table is played. Anything else I might try to get it working?

as to vids not playing on the backglass I can only surmise your pinup player plugin or dll's may be out of date. 

Pup stuff is up to 1.5 now.  Test if it runs without the table. This will only test the backglass vids in this case because the dmd is all scripted and not part of Jaws pup pack. Go to the pinupsystem folder and run PinUpPlayerTestPack.exe. Type jaws in the enter rom name field anck click pupinit. The backglass should startup with the attract video.

@Cliffy PinUpPlayerTestPack.exe plays the backglass video, but the table isn't triggering it. Guess I'll just enjoy it with the static backglass.

For whatever reason, this file locks up my cabinet when using f12 window mode to adjust POV. It's starts out OK but then just freezes everything and not even control all delete will allow task manager to let me close it. only fix is restarting the entire system. It's only this file that does this. Tried in standalone vpx with just the vpx file and nothing else. Still locks up. Tried numerous times and reloads. 

Just letting everyone know in case someone runs in to this. My only fix was to delete the game, which is a shame cause it looks awesome. 

I deleted everything that has anything to do with Jaws vpx to try and see if some rogue file was causing it. No joy.

Hoping to get some advice/help on how to get the pup pack to work on a three-screen system.   Right now, the only thing appearing on my full-dmd screen is the dmd.  Everything else is on the BG (minus playfield, ofc).
