OK.... "one" last feature to add.... Sonic Ball

 

I can't believe I almost forgot to add this! It's the one thing most people ask about when it comes to Sonic Pinball. A Sonic ball!

 

I added the Sonic texture, but also added bump maps which make it look really nice with FP's dynamic lighting. I also added a yellow Super Sonic ball as well for Super Sonic mode.

 

Looks real neat with the Invincibility effect, and the Shield, and the Sonic Shoes trail.


This is an "option" that can be toggled with Magna Save buttons (you need to wait for a new ball to be created for it to take effect)... or you can enable it in script options.

 

Locking everything down.... testing.... cleaning things up... getting REAL close guys.

Amazing video showcase of new features, all Game Modes, and Super Sonic!

 

This new 4K 60fps video really showcases this table's stunning visuals, lighting, ray cast shadows, detailed models, and EPIC all new gameplay and modes.

 

You really have to watch the whole video to believe it!

 

Enjoy this video while I'm in the final stages of creating rulesheets, install instructions, pov CFG files, etc and packaging everything together.

 

Please remember this is NOT a PinEvent version (DOF, SSF, PUP). That will come at a later time.

 

BAM Update:

 

This table REQUIRES the new BAM update 1.5-345 that was just released! You can get that here:

Backup your entire BAM folder, then install the new BAM update (extract files from zip and copy into BAM folder, overwrite all files). Then copy these 3 files:

 

BAM.cfg

Reality.dat

Default.cfg

 

from your backup BAM folder into the BAM folder, and overwrite them (these are your BAM settings from before).

Changelog (v1.1)

 

- lots of various fixes and changes that should make the game easier and more fun to play
- new chrome side rails
- Special 1 and Special 2 key / button will now also act as a plunger during gameplay
- adjusted spinner settings, added Ravarcade's new spinner code
- choas emerald inserts will blink when their respective mode is selected / active (only if it's not already collected)
- added new PinEvent V2 automated control and features code
- added full DOF and PUP SSF support
- added Table Options to disable ball effects for Invincible, Shield, and Sonic Shoes (for slower PC's)
- added 10 second ball saver to the start of each mode
- added new Tilt Warning Recovery control option
- added DF1 physics to upper right flippers, adjusted angle slightly (mid-right flipper can hit Mania Modes easily when ball is cradled)
- if Mania Modes is lit when starting multi-ball or before ball drains, it will now be lit again after multi-ball ends and for next ball
- changed kicker brake plates to not be set to "Mark as Ornamental"
- fix for upper flippers not turning off for tilt
- fix goal post not rotating correctly on drain (should show Robotnik)

Sonic Pinball Mania (PinEvent V2) - PUPDMD first preview

 

Ring Hunt

 

Well, I'm getting close to finishing the first PinEvent V2 release which will Sonic Pinball Mania. Hard to believe its been over 1 years since I've done anything pup related. Here you can see the PUPDMD display is using the newer drop shadows feature for the text.

The 7 chaos emeralds, the 4 powerups, and the item box all graphically change to show what you've collected, or can collect on the main game in real-time. The text at the bottom gives you hints to what you need to do. The upper left and upper right show how many rings you've collected and how many you've banked.

 

Lots of videos for many table events are created with really sharp looking animated text and effects, with LOTs of colour. You can see Sonic running in the background... and this changes depending on the mode you are playing in.

 

Love how this turned out!

PinEvent V2 - PUPDMD update full gameplay demo

After months of work, my EPIC new PinEvent V2 update for Sonic Pinball Mania (for Future Pinball - BAM) is upon us! It has a dazzling new PuP-Pack and PUP DMD display with slick animated videos, crisp fonts with drop shadows, and a beautiful HUD that displays everything you need to know about your game in real-time.

 

The 1.2 table update has also received many fixes, changes, and some EPIC new Sonic music that will please many fans!

 

This is also the first table to receive my all-new PinEvent V2 update, which has new features, simpler settings, and automated checks and control for DOF, PUP SSF, and PUP DMD features. This will allow the table to work for "everyone" without "requiring" extra vbs files to run, while also allowing easy to apply global settings or custom settings for each table for ALL setups.

1.2 - PinEvent V2 update is now available!

 

- added PinEvent V2 support for PUPDMD, PUPStream, and a new pup-pack with videos / text / overlays / backglass
- added lots of new music - new songs played with each new ball, and after each mode is completed
- small changes to playfield art
- various fixes and tweaks, relocated top most kicker to make the shot a bit easier
- fixed Mania Mode blinking (no longer blinks when lock is lit, etc)

EVERYONE using PinEvent V2 features (DOF, PUP SSF, PUP DMD) MUST read the new install instructions included in the table's zip file!

1.3 update

- added option to disable the Shield's SlowMotion (the slow motion made the game unplayable for some users - 5 fps, etc)
- updated Install Instructions
- added new info relevant to the new version of Baller Installer

Sonic Pinball Mania (PinEvent V2 - FizX) - Future Pinball - BAM

 

1.4 - FizX update! Now Available!

 

The highly anticipated first PinEvent V2 table to use the new FizX physics system for FP is here! The days of FP's old physics are gone!

 

 

FizX

 

This table has been fully updated with FizX for game changing new physics on Future Pinball. The old Future Pinball physics are GONE! FizX uses techniques similar to nFozzy on VPX to completely change the physics for the flippers, slings, rubbers, targets, ball behavior and more that allows this table play much more realistically than anyone ever thought was possible on Future Pinball.

 

You will be amazed at the difference!

 

 

FizX Profiles and settings

 

You can easily choose from different preset FizX physics settings in the table script. Some use a higher FPS for the physics (this requires a fast PC), others use stronger flippers!
You aren't limited by this however. You can change all of FizX's settings to completely tweak and adjust the physics to your own preference!

 

Read the Install Instructions for more information.

- added second stage flippers option
- added speed booster to right wireramp to ensure ball completes loop if hitting bots

I really hope you guys enjoy this major change with FP tables and how much better they can play now. I invite everyone who has never played FP before to give this a try. Many "VPX-only" testers have installed (or re-installed) FP just to try this, and they have been amazed at the difference. I think you will be too!

Sonic Pinball Mania (PinEvent V2, FizX, Future Pinball - BAM)

 

1.5 update (Spin Dash and Magna-Spinner) - Coming very soon!

 

This video shows some new updates and two cool new features I always wanted to add... and now they are here!

 

One is a new Magna-Spinner toy that will let you trap a ball and choose where it will propel to... without using any flippers! The other is the iconic Sonic Spin Dash that lets you stop the ball anywhere on the playfield, charge up your spin, and DASH the ball in the direction you want!

 

Both these features completely change the gameplay, and also make the dreaded ManiaModes shot MUCH easier! Many other fixes, refinements and changes make this table much more accessible and fun to play and gives you a better chance at becoming Super Sonic!

 

The video has chapters, so you can jump right to the demo of each feature if you want.

1.5 - New Sonic Spin Dash and Magna-Spinner, FizX v2.0, Big update!

- NEW Magna-Spinner feature! Activate Magna-Spinner with checkpoint. Use Plunger/Special to hold ball (for a limited time) and then release to shoot ball in direction of the animated light
- NEW Sonic Spin DASH feature! You get Sonic Spin Dash lit up at start of each ball, or by hitting the Checkpoint
- to use Sonic Spin Dash, hold down plunger/special (for a limited time) and then release to DASH in direction of animated pointer
- new apron lights and art for Sonic Dash and Magna-Spinner
- new Camera Control option for multiball and Magna Spinner views
- added shadowmaps to flashers and combined additional shadowmaps and decals to one layer
- added shadows to sidewall and backwall art

Important! Please Read!

 

- ALL these new updates REQUIRE BAM 1.5-357
- patch both FP and BAM for 4 GB access after updating BAM, to be sure they are both patched
- FizX v2.0 no longer uses the older 8K Physics Ball! Do not use it with this table!
- install the 1K Physics Ball model now! (as default.zip in BAM folder)
- if using PUP features, you MUST install the NEW PuP-Pack to use with this table, or PUP features won't work!
- if you installed Baller Installer and UPDATED it to the new Jan 2023 update, then you "should" be fully updated and ready for this new table update!
