This is a great back up program for your hyperpin, visual pinball and future pinball files

It's free and will back any files you wish on the fly or scheduled depending on your requirements

Thanks, pretty nice looking backup util for a freebie.

Here is an interesting backup question.  What do you need to backup to get the pinmame settings like "yes I own the ROM" and DMD size and location?  After my recent HD crash I was able to get most everything back from a backup, although some files had changed since the month between backups.  However I had to go into each and every table and do the ROM confirmation and re-size and position every DMD on tables with DMD displays.  Do you have to backup the registry entries ?  If so, anyone know an easy way to just backup those entries and not the entire registry?

Cool, thanks guys, with that information and the  Registry backup Ton posted it should be a snap to repair next time.  Wish I had asked this before my C:\ totally died on me and I lost the registry.

You can also backup specific keys with out a tool (other than regedit) as well:

REGEDIT /E C:\Full\Backup\Path\vpinmame.reg "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Freeware\Visual PinMame"

Do you mean copy and paste that file to back it up? This is something I am not well versed in, so it may be a stupid question.

This is something you can execute on a command line.

Also here is a batch file I use to backup my system.  This is still a work in progress but you might find this useful.  This is customized for my system and would have to be altered for your setup but you can get an idea of what I am backing up.  If anyone has some suggestions on what else I need to backup let me know.

I just run it manually after adding new tables but I suppose it could be scheduled with Task Scheduler built into Windows.
