I'm getting this crash error if I run a table at over 1080p.  Table loads then crashes with this dialog box.

I just tried updating to VPX 10.7  same thing.

Weird thing is there's plenty of memory on the card and system.  Specs are 9700k, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia 1080Ti 11GB WIN 10 PRO.   Should be able to power through at 4k I would imagine.

Looking  at task manager... VPX is less than 2 GB mem useage... same on video card.  Standard Terry Red install.

All other steam games run fine.

Is there some registry setting or ini file I need to modify.

There doesn't seem to be much of anything posted about this error except specifically related to new tables and old hardware... which isn't the case in my instance.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rich

How are you running Vpinball, through a front end like Pinup Popper or via the editor? This sort of thing can happen when you aload up tablets in the editor and play them but don't shut the editor down between each table load.

Thank you for your reply!

No, I’m actually just running it through the application... manually starting it through the desktop shortcut.  I kill the VPX process with task manager every time it hangs.

I’m wondering if it could be VPX not liking a specific Nvidia driver version?

I’m thinking about reinstalling Windows 7 ... Windows 10 is always suspect IMHO.

i am seeing the same thing with a 4670k and 3080 - it is just the Big Bang Bar 1.2 table. my nvidia drivers are up to date. did you do anything specific besides just update the drivers?

I'm wondering why the error references a fictional directory on drive D. I get the exact same error message on a couple of tables.  One is VPW's X-Men.  Occasionally it will run, but usually gives me the exact same error.

I am getting the same error with a slightly different address as well.  It is when I try to start Big Bang Bar VPW from PinUp Popper using the Alternate Launcher as x64.  If I load it directly from x64, not thru PinUp Popper it works just fine.  Other tables load fine using Alternate Launcher as x64.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I am going through this exact thing now with BBB and x64. Was the solution to change the resolution of the table? If so, is there a way to do it just for the table and not the whole of VPX x64?

hello  have the same bug/message - i'm in 3072 - and few month ago the table is ok ? why nowit's not ok (10.8 or 10.7.4)

I too am having the exact same error after updating to 10.8 and trying the VPW Last Action Hero and Jurassic Park. I have a 2070 Super vid card and 2x8GB RAM. I am purchasing 2x16GB as it's my only option with the mobo. I'll see if upping the RAM helps my issues and advise.

Open table in editor, and click Preferences, Video / Graphics Options.

Now you should see in upper left of window "Edited Settings".

You want to click "Specific table overrides", so this will only effect the one table, and change the "Max Texture Dimension" to a smaller number.

(Try 3172 and if it still errors, use a smaller number until it doesn't error.)

Now you need to click "Save Overrides" down in the bottom right of window, and an ini file with table name will be created in the same folder as the table.

Restart table and now only the one table will use these settings changes.

That is a setting only available on the VPX8 Beta version.

If you are getting this error still, try setting Max Texture Dimension to 2048 and see if that helps.

This however will effect all tables, unless you use the VPX8Beta version.
