needavirus
Hi, Today I've soldered my new Shield, When I put it in a real machine I've no display... :-( I don't understand, because 5Vdc is present everywhere, even on the displays. The STMF32 has a green fix led, and blinking red led. It has no SDcard on it, still not activated. When I've tried the display out of machine with Dupont cables, everything was ok, So I'm pretty sure it's a mistake with the Shield, But I don't know What... Can you please help me guys ? Many thanks !
Content Provider lucky1 Posted June 2, 2019 Content Provider Share Posted June 2, 2019 Did you solder the wirebridge on the ENH pins 2-3 ? A pictures says more than words.

needavirus
Ok, It's for place on a Stern Sopranos. But I don't understand your asking : DeviceMode ? Where am I supposed to select this devicemode ? I've already flashed my STMF32 Into Pin2DMD device If it is your question.
Content Provider lucky1 Posted June 4, 2019 Content Provider Share Posted June 4, 2019 Stern Sopranos is a Whitestar machine which you need to select as devicemode using either the onscreen menu or the pin2dmd utility. needavirus
OK Lucky1. Things seems to going better in better, But... I cannot use Pin2DMD.exe... It seems to doing nothing. Or I've an error window open when I push save config. So, I've configured my display via Menu : It seems to be Ok : But Now, How am I supposed to add colorization file on MicroSD card ? Can I copy on it manually ? Or I absolutely need to use Pin2DMD.exe For this job ? Many thanks ! Have a nice day ?
Content Provider lucky1 Posted June 6, 2019 Content Provider Share Posted June 6, 2019 See 2.1.3 here https://pin2dmd.com/editor/ Copy the colorization files generated by pin2dmd editor named pin2dmd.pal and pin2dmd.fsq to your microSD. For sopranos you can get them from @vbobrusev.

But if I plug off usb cable --> The screen continue to operate ! But I absolutely to plug my USB cable to my computer One time for make it operate ! If I go to diagnostic, I can see Plug 11&17 Closed. What does it mean ? Thanks a lot.
Rappelbox
Make an update of the ST-Link firmware and you should be fine. You can find the update tool inside of the st link utility.

needavirus
Hello Guys, How're u ? First some photos of my montage : What do you thing ? (My first time...) BUT, I've some issues (again, yes) with the display. Now, I don't really know why, but it's very very glitchy compared to when I've tested It without any screw, ground etc... It's really make headhache... Take a look : What can I do for it ? I've tested my 5Vdc supply, and I've just 5.00DC ... But, I cannot go less... It's minimum possible I think. And, It seems to be, A LOT of frames that are not colorized, BUT, I'm using a FRENCH Display Eprom, So, Do I need to change it for an US Display Eprom to work correctly ? (I've got this idea, because i've seen some words stayed in english in my game...) Again, Many Many thanks for your help guys ! Greetings ? Content Provider lucky1 Posted June 9, 2019 Content Provider Share Posted June 9, 2019 These glitches normally come from panel voltage being to high and long connector cables to the panels. 4.8V is recommended.
needavirus
Ok, How can I do for lowing more my 5Vdc ? Add some resistor in serie with supply of Displays ? (Can you tell my how much resistor ?) I use 5Vdc supply for optional board inside my backbox. Definitely no more use of High Voltage display board. Thanks Lucky1
Content Provider lucky1 Posted June 9, 2019 Content Provider Share Posted June 9, 2019 I always use Meanwell 5V DC 5A RS-25-5 power supplies which are adjustable.
needavirus
Yes, I've this : But I've found +5Vdc in the machine where not used, so I've taken it. But, I think I will just add a DC-DC Converter, just before the display, just for lowering it. With this : Do you think it's good ? Thanks ?
Content Provider lucky1 Posted June 10, 2019 Content Provider Share Posted June 10, 2019 If you want to use the 5V from your machine you have to make sure it can supply up to 4A. I recommend to use 12V as a source and use the DC DC converter to set the voltage to 4.8V Please measure the voltage before connecting the display.
