xantari Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Folks, I'm looking for the most compatible DMD display device. I am either thinking an LCD screen or a the pindmd V3 (color one). My question is: Is there a downside to pindmd V3 versus an LCD? I want to use all emulators in my cabinet: VP, FP, Pinball FX2, Pinball Arcade (with directx 11 mod which I don't know much about), etc I am unclear if all the emulators support pindmd or if say Pinball FX2 only supports placing their DMD onto a 3rd LCD screen, but not on a PinDMD V3. Thoughts?
randr Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Loaded question! If you want pinball arcade and pbfx2 then go with lcd which looks like crap in my opinion hate lcd dmd's. The new pindmd3 or pin2dmd are good easy config for vp just works....but coloring them per game is kinda a pain. I prefer the plasma with a pindmd2 authentic emulation of 99.99 percent of tables and looks great just like original pins. But tpa and fx2 still not supporting them I don't play those anyways so not a big deal. From 1st choice to last: Pindmd2 Pin2dmd Pindmd3 Lcd Again my opinion
Content Provider lucky1 Posted March 23, 2016 Content Provider Posted March 23, 2016 If you want to use pre colorized ROMs for Stern tables like here in the download section or colorize the rest of tables yourself currently the only choice is pin2dmd. LCD Screen and pindmdV3 only support colorize feature of pinmame (4 colors only) and single color shades for stern no custom colorization techniques.
