Hi VPUniverse!

I'm the creator of "Pinball Labs", a new pinball simulator, editor, and API built using Unreal Engine 4.

Pinball Labs aims to have highly accurate physics and visuals and will support three display modes, Desktop, VR and Virtual Cabinet.

Pinball Labs includes a host of virtual assets like pop-bumpers, slings, lights, spinners, drop-targets, plungers, etc., Pinball Labs' editor will allow anyone to easily design and play their own virtual pinball machines with drag and drop simplicity.

Last but not least, our API supports connectivity of virtual pinball to real world hardware or emulators. Enthusiasts with virtual pinball cabinets will have the power to to hook up real world buttons, lights, solenoids and other physical feedback devices directly to Pinball Labs' simulation.

I'm excited to announce the Kickstarter for Pinball Labs is now LIVE!  Check out the Kickstarter page for more information and list of features for the project.

Here's a work in progress video of a Pinball Labs recreation.  In this video Pinball Labs is using its API and "Event Stream" to interface with an instance of VPinMAME.

This second video shows how any number of clients can connect to the Pinball Event stream to read or write data for switches, lamps, solenoids, DMD data and more!

Here's an downloadable alpha demo of the Pinball Labs simulator.  This build isn't quite a playable game with scoring, etc but it should give you a feel for the physics and visuals.

If you find this project interesting please spread the word!   Thank you for your support!

Thanks for posting this here on VPU.  This looks very promising.  I backed at Wizard level!  I'll definitely download the alpha and give it a test once I get home.

Will the project support "real" pinball machines, or is it strictly geared to "fantasy" tables?

I imagine that real tables could be rebuilt in Pinball Labs, but are there any plans to import VP or FP tables?

From what I understand this is another type of "Visual Pinball". It'll support both real and originals.

From what I've read there is no Paypal option.

Hope that helps.

From what I have played with and read, this could be a real game changer.  He got support working for VPinMame in 1 day, says he will add DOF support so force feedback will work with existing configs (this is huge), works with both originals and recreations, works with Oculus Rift (unbelievable).  I'm going to be very upset if this doesn't go through.  please everyone pledge something if they can (I have nothing to do with this project)

I am throwing a point of view into 'the pot' here.

This is obviously something that will - in the end be charged for.

Pinball emulation is not a massive business, and most will download VP and PinMAME for free, along with all the games they want.  With VPX that i feel is amazing, what differences is this new engine going to add?
How much will the package be?
How much will each game be?

What spec computer will it need?

If the games are being sold, licensing for each game will be a large cost factor.

I am just asking these questions as it could be why people are not pledging...
