StarCraft Pinball (Original 2026) v1.2.1

"You must construct additional Pylons!"

...So, so many Pylons... What a long journey it's been.  I'm happy to finally present Star Craft!  This table features THREE playfields, one for each race and some fun animations along the way.  Start as Terran race and battle Zerg on planet 1, then battle Protoss on planet 2.  Planet 3 (and 4) will switch to Protoss race and finally finish as Zerg for the last two planets!  After completing each world/map you will be "Victorious", shot required shots to advance along in the game.  Each race has up to three specific buildings that get built as you mine resources, thanks to @yacuthulluzanand @Tombg for model help.  Full pup created by @GtecArcade with over 250 video clips and 20 audio tracks pulled from the games!  Sorry (not sorry) for the pup size, we here like variety; nothing worse than hearing the same clip over and over!  PupDMD setup by @merlinrtp, many thanks for the help.  HUGE THANKS to VPW for the original table and permissions!  Thanks to @Supergibson for guidance and glowing ring animations, @DrNobody for overlays, our testers at @SuperTilted  / VPU and anyone else I forgot!

New in version 1.1, play as any starting race!  Game will always advance to the next race at planet 3 and planet 5.  Having trouble advancing, try easy mode in the f12 menu (Just don't tell your friends!).

-------------------------------------

Some important notes:

-------------------------------------

*  Our table uses the startrp2 ROM, make sure to download it.

*  An Alias needs to be added to VPMAlias.txt:  "startrp2sc,startrp2".  We have a bat file with instructions to automate this in the Pup or in the downloads above.  Or add it manually.

*  This is a ONE PLAYER game only!  Because limitations to the ROM and the scripting, the table plays best with single player.  The ROM will accept more players however there may be issues with playfield switches, etc.

*  The pup pack is not required, however HIGHLY encouraged for the full experience!

*  Pressing start before the rom is started will result in the game loading too soon.  However not to worry, it will not break anything, as pressing start again will only restart the sequence.  Do try to refrain from pressing start mid-game.

*  ANYONE WITH CRASHING should delete screentype.txt from within the pup folder.  Or redownload from either link below.

*  Correct ROM can be found here, it has also been seen to resolving crashing or other strange behavior:  https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=7349

Make sure to run the correct bat file that matches your pinball configuration.  You will notice "Race matching" and "Alternating backgrounds". Race matching will use Zerg/ Protoss/ Terran pup backgrounds when on that corresponding playfield, they will automatically switch when playfields change.  Alternating will play a loop with all race backgrounds flipping every 25 seconds.

This is our v1.0 build, we welcome improvement ideas for future versions.  "En Taro Adun!"

Hi. I NEVER use PUP packs. I find them useless and only play on one screen anyway. I can live without all the stupid PUP movies. Even on real Pinball Tables I NEVER look at the backglass except after my last ball drains to see what my score was. That is IT.

So I changed line
146 usePUP = false

(Then I recompiled the code, saved the table and tried to run it)

But I still get this stupid error...

Runtime error
-------------
Line: 6504
Object required: 'PuPlayer'

Simply remove the puppack and leave the twble script alone. But its pointless to run without the puppack because it will just be silent the entire time you play

Ok, but I only use the VPX table file. I don't have any Pup infrastructure even installed on my PC. I just use VPX and Backglass files. That is it. So how do I remove something I never installed?

The puppack is called twice once for pupevents and once for pupdmd so its really not possible to turn off the puppack without causing errors. But you can leave out the puppack all together and it will run the table. It will just be a silent table not worth playing. You can comment out the line in the table init section where it turns off roms sounds but that will basically make it a starship troopers reskin table

Thanks for the follow-up. I will just delete this table. No worries. I have over 600 tables the fully work without PUP so it's no big loss by any means. Plenty of pinball to play still.
