Tengri Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I’d like to echo what @hauntfreaks wrote in his first post (in a way..). I understand that some people in our community are happy to play their tables on mobile platforms such as Android and iOS. However, from the moment I heard that VPX began opening up to mobile, I had a bad feeling about it. Mobile platforms are where the money-seekers are today - and where public attention is focused. I’m concerned that having VPX available on mobile could eventually attract the wrong kind of people. Additionally, it could draw unwanted attention from companies concerned about copyright infringements.
tnkcmdr69 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) This is why I am a paid member of VP Universe. This is my way of contributing and giving back to this hobby since I am not gifted in the area of table creation! That being said, going underground would hurt your supporters like me as much if not more than it will hurt the pack sellers..... Edited January 6 by tnkcmdr69

I've asked about this before, as someone that builds content, I've always wanted the ability to hide my content from anyone I deem to be a pariah to the community... at this time that feature isnt available also a very very long time ago, VPF is someone DLed your content... it was listed who DLed your content... this would also be a good feature to have so we our selves could monitor who's DLing

I see post everyday asking questions on why its not working.. I CAN TELL ALL OF YOU NEWBIES WHY,,,LEARN THE SOFTWARE AND DONT BUY PACKS,,THIS IS NOT MAME ... um all i can say about that Fogot to say Happy New Year good things coming for 2026 for VPX ,,for those who like to learn new things lol.....😉 for leeches HA HA good luck keeping up 🖕
hauntfreaks Posted January 7 Posted January 7 @Wildman so my point being.... the pack sellers would have no content worth selling if all it was , was content from VPF...
cl4ve Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) I think anyone who buys a pack will be too dumb to know how to use it cause if they were smart enough they never would have paid someone in the first place. And standalone still requires a table be dled from one of the sites not like you get it from the app. I think standalone could bring more people into the hobby. I'd like to know everyone's stance on adding the standalone version with the table dl? Edited January 7 by cl4ve

The first would require an addon to be created, but it's possible. The second is doable right now, but it is database/server intensive for everyone to be able to view. (you as a mod should be able to see this already).
okerra Posted January 7 Posted January 7 I completely agree, and I'd add that vendors of pinballs, ready-to-play, fully configured and pre-loaded tables exploit the myth that all this is very difficult to charge a couple of thousand more.
VirtualPostman Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Fully support this. I bought a premade VP table a few years ago complete with tables including pinball fx2 full roster. This was running on PinballX frontend. There were missign artworks, some tables didnt work and were old versions. I eventually scrapped it and found baller installer and rebuilt myself my own collection. Have since got an ALP4K and using that mostly through OTG and rebuilding my tables one at a time. The comanies building premade virtual pinball systems dont care. There are 2 that I know of in the UK that do full systems. One of them has a full roster of VPX tables (the one i bought my original one from) and as well as all the pinball FX tables. They are also using Popper which isnt allowed as far as im aware by the author.
MPTech Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Signed! Totally agree 100%! I built my MAME Arcade about 20+ years ago and installed flipper buttons and a few early VPX & FP tables about a year later. I began playing the VP more than the MAME games and dreamed of one day building a dedicated Pinball Cabinet. Started my 3-screen Pincab shortly after Covid hit (and I was working from home 100%). Finished it in about 4 months and never looked back! I love it and GREATLY appreciate the amazing work the Creators do. I can't thank them enough (and I do try!) Thanks again. I Love the work of the VPW team, PLEASE, please, please continue. As a strong supporter, what can we do to help?? Any suggestions?
JFR1 Posted January 22 Posted January 22 SIGNED! While it may be of little solace, pack downloaders will never experience what we in this community have. I just played @rothbauerw Star Trek for the umpteenth time tonight. When I loaded that up way back when, I had no idea of what I was about to hear. Those type of moments...and they keep coming! are priceless.
brlowe Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I'm new to Vpin builds and have been building my own cabinet for about 3 months now. I completely understand this is your work that you spend hundreds of hours if not thousands and then you are giving it to us for free. The least we can do is learn how to install and set it up in our cabinets. That is the part I have been doing the last few days and it really is not hard once you figure it out. So I totally support the DO NOT BUY TABLE PACKS!!!!! By the way I have install a couple of Workshop tables so far and they are great.
namine Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I've seen certain companies (ones in Australia who will remain nameless) as well as ones on sites like AliExpress, that they tend to do this, it's a real big shame because I think in all honesty, we as the virtual pinball community have a gentlemen's handshake agreement with the pinball companies like that we CAN make tables after a certain time limit or how many tables have been sold. It's like with the "table that shall not be named" from Stern, that person who stole the coding from Stern came so close to shutting the entire VPin community down!
UltraMagnus Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I'm pretty sure I spoke on this about a month ago or more in this forum but just in case I didn't clarify I 1000% stand behind the people of this Community/ It has become of my daily and I am I love that almost every single day I learned something new and that is thanks the people who have directly helped me the people that I've created videos on Youtube and all across the Internet the wonderful art the talented creators of all the B-2s, pup packs, The wonderful recreations, The originality, The visions, The multimedia pumping, The beautiful tables that I enjoy and I Would gladly have paid if any one of these people that provide things for free had initially decided that this was going to be a business and that is just how good all of you are so yes I stand never any packs from the Dirty rotten Scumbag thieves that sell And Turn a profit From the blood sweat stress and tears And the Infinite amount of time that everybody in this community has pumped Into this seemingly endless of joy. If you any Vpx, Or future pinball then the root of the problem. Stop buying and they can't sell. I'm out peace and love everybody
