Mopple Posted May 14 Posted May 14 Help, please: Which rom am I supposed to use? It says "seawitfp" but what is that supposed to mean? A Stern "Beatles" rom that is just renamed like that? I've searched and tried but nothing works so far. Could you point me in the right direction here or provide a link? Thanks so much in advance for a great table!

Mopple Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I tried this rom but I just get this error message. I'm wondering anyway how this 4kB rom (which is apparently the original Seawitch rom?) can run the Beatles table. I know it's based on the old table so only the graphics have been changed to the "Beatles" theme? But what about all the music and programming? If it's not in the rom where is all that stored? And: Is the rom supposed to look like that inside (see attachments)? Any further help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Don't unzip the rom. just put the zip in Vpinmame/roms folder .. all graphics sound and script are in the VPX table, it just uses the ROM logic for scoring and game modes.
Mopple Posted May 14 Posted May 14 (edited) Of course I didn't unzip it! 🙂 I just wanted you to check if it's the correct rom. So no, no luck so far. I placed it in the roms folder, I used your nfozzy table, freshly unblocked and unzipped, and the result are my attached photos. I use Vpinmame 3.6 and VPX 10.8 Final. On my current chronological journey through all the "new" Stern tables, starting with 1999's Harley Davidson, I didn't encounter any problems with tables or roms, everything works, all tables could be installed and run fine, from Sharkey's Shootout to Avatar up to X-Men, Metallica Monsters and 2014's Mustang. The only other table from that list I have absolutely no luck with is "The Walking Dead"; all table versions either don't run, get slower during gameplay until they freeze or have a light bouncy ball with absolutely no weight. The "Beatles" pinball is maybe one of the last ones of the "newer" pinballs for me anyway, since I don't intend to invest in a new cabinet backbox with this new big LCD monitor setup. What I still don't understand is how especially the "Beatles" music and sounds, which (supposedly) play during a game, can be stored in the VPX script!? If it's the original "Seawitch" rom? How is that possible? But I digress! Sorry, but if you have any other ideas regarding the "Beatles" I'd be most grateful. Edited May 14 by Mopple

OK i checked the ROM again and the one posted here is actually missing some files. Download from here and it should work fine: https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=5334
Mopple Posted May 15 Posted May 15 You beat me to it! I was just about to write you my version of the solution: I reminded myself that over at Orbitalpin there was a complete package of the "Beatles" table so I downloaded that, and of course it also had a rom file, and looking into it, I saw it had four parts iinstead of the two of the other rom (and was also twice the size of course). I tried it and it worked! So thank you all again, Happy Weekend - and now back to the silver ball!
dverduyn Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago When I play this great table I get scores in a black font on top of the scores from the backglass, tried different backglasses but all the same it must come from the table/rom. Is something wrong with my setup ?
dverduyn Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Ahhh found the issue, have set line 50 to "HasPuP = false". Numbers are gone now.
