Creating a download with link to Mega or Google Drive?

I have been creating a large amount of content for Pinup Popper for some time and would like to be able to share the links to areas of my Google Drive so that people can download packs of wheels/themes/loading screens etc. more easily. I have seen some users have downloads setup so that when the download button is clicked it redirects to Mega / GDrive but I cannot see how to achieve this when uploading?

 

I did speak with some of the community and they advised clicked the add files by URL when submitting files though that button does not show for me. Please can someone shed some light on how we should be doing this now?

You should look at TerryRed's postings of his PinEvent tables.  I think he always posts them on an external site.

Uploading to external sites is discouraged, except for a select few authors. External sites are known to break links, and files eventually go missing after periods of inactivity. Only a specific sub-set of users have the ability to link to an external site and we just don't open that to just anyone.

Completely understand the reasoning here Dazz, especially with what happened with Vpinball content previously. 

 

The key aspects of external sharing I am looking for is to permit users to be able to download all files (or selected files) in a collection in a single zip file rather than having to download each individually and also the ability to quickly update collections as and when without needing to go through moderation. Is this something that could be looked at for VPU collections as can see this would have a big benefit for content creators and users alike and would see more use of VPU collections?

Is there any update on this @Dazz? Since setting up VPU collections I have a lot of people reaching out asking if there is a means to download all files more easily than one at a time.

 

It seems the users who have been able to link out to cloud storage have "Content Creator" on their profile. How can I get this added to my account please?
