What are everyone's thoughts on PUP packs in VR? I have installed a few for Stranger Things and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire table, but the dmd and backglass are unreadable in VR. They look great on my computer, but not the headset, even though the table itself is crisp. Is this just a limitation of VR? I don't have a full cab, so I've never seen a pup pack run as it should. I just have a mini cab I use with my Quest 3. Tables that don't have video backglass are great, but anything with videos and small text is rough. Are my settings wrong, having this issue, or is it just expected? Thanks!

If your hardware can handle it, everything should be nice and clear.

Interesting, I must have something set up wrong then. I have a Threadripper 2950x for CPU and a 4070 ti super for GPU so I expect that is good enough hardware. I'll have to look at my settings and see if I can figure out what's up. Appreciate the comment.

Maybe you just need to boost the visuals then......

How to boost Oculus Quest resolution using link Open the Oculus app on your Computer.
Click Devices on the left side of the app.
Click Quest and Touch.
Scroll down to Graphics Preferences.
Here, you can adjust your Refresh Rate and Render Resolution.
Refresh rate: The number of times your Quest 2 screen updates with new images each second. You can set your refresh rate to 72 Hz, 80 Hz, or 90 Hz.(I would start at 72Hz)
Render Resolution: Adjusts the resolution that the app or game you're using is being rendered at. The maximum render resolution you can set is 5408 x 2736.
Improved visuals vs performance
Keep in mind, while increasing your refresh rate and render resolution will result in improved visuals, these adjustments could have a negative impact on overall performance. Even with some of the newest and most powerful GPUs, maxing out values for the render resolution slider with a 90 Hz refresh rate may result in dropped or missing frames, which creates a less smooth in-VR experience, if you wanted more resolution you could grab the "Oculus Debug Tool" in your Oculus software folder and bump up the resolution even more. To do this, adjust the "Pixels Per Display Pixel Override" Setting it at "1" results in 100%, try 1.1 and hit enter, then 1.2 (1.2 means 44% more pixels) and so on until you have issues then back off a bit until everything is smooth. Always launch the Oculus software first, then the Debug Tool and make your settings, then open VPVR. Unfortunately this has to be done every VR session

Just had another thought, if you haven't, try the "use alternate depth buffer" in the VPX Video/Graphics Options.

Thank you for this! What I figured out is I had my screen sizes way too small in Popper, and it was causing pixelation in-game. Additionally, I ended up boosting the bitrate in the debug tool, which made a world of a difference. I'm going to go ahead and play with everything you said in this message as well and see if I can get it even better. I appreciate your time. A lot of your other comments on other threads have helped me out a lot. Cheers!

Update: absolutely wild what "Pixels Per Display Pixel Override" did. Fixed all my issues and made every table I play look better. Thanks for this tip!

I tried to write a vbscript to change the Pixels Per Display Pixel Override and disable asynchronous spacewarp, then launch vpx launcher, but failed. Do you know if there is anything out there to automate it?

There was talk in our VR Pinball Discord that someone was going to do the same but I don't think it ever happened. It is a pain setting it before each session.......but worth it :)

Would you mind dropping a link to that discord? I'd love to join!
