Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 15, 2013 Content Provider Share Posted January 15, 2013 Some of you have seen, some not. Here's my woodrail cab I've been working on as I get time and money. It's a 2 screen setup with a non dedicated computer. My computer is 6 feet to the left of this and runs by extension. Essentially my cab is a gloified game controller. But I didn't want to waste a good computer doing this as I can't afford 2 good computers. I'm using a switched plunger. To me it feels perfect, it does have a bit of lag though. Featuring stained wood trim (trim covers all). Right now I'm short of 500$ on this build and I expect it to stay at 500$ finished. Hardware: Gigabyte z-68dap MB I-5 2400k 16g DDR 3 @1300mhz 1.5 tb/6gb/s HDD GTX 280 card 650 watt Coolermaster PS Keywiz from Groovy Game Gear The computer cost about 500 to build also, (that's right, I built it). Those who know me will get that....

Content Provider Itchigo Posted February 14, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted February 14, 2013 I found a guy on e-bay who makes reproductions for Bally Bingo's. Here's an update with more pics. My wonderful wiring....lol. Never thought I'd use a 6 way plug, but put one in anyway (not UL approved (lol). My plunger is fully functional. That plunger by the way is actually from a real 1950's machine (ebay 15.00) Yes, I actually have a functioning quarter counter, not sure why, but it's cool. (3.75) The ONLY hi def tv I own, and it's not for tv at all. (25 inch) I'm really impressed with how the lockdown bar came out. It's made from a piece of 5$ moulding. Wood is NOT my thing, metal is. Plunger needs to be rechromed as it's 60 years old, but it's coming along with the stained wood. How it looks to play. Painted glass looks nice. Front view (again) showing the wooden legs, coin door, and 1950's plunger. Oh, and yes, that IS a mouse drawer.

Content Provider Itchigo Posted February 15, 2013 Author Content Provider Share Posted February 15, 2013 You'll have to give me some time. I tried using the image host (slow), then I go to save my changes and vpu wont take png's. Now I have to go to work, so I can't do it until tonight. They all work when I click the link. newjersey
it looks nice, like a classic. i was only wondering the 16GB RAM, isn't that a bit much? (overkill)in my cab i have about 4GB and Windows7 does not even access that to the max.
Content Provider arngrim Posted January 15, 2014 Content Provider Share Posted January 15, 2014 8 gb is a good compromise, you may need more than 4 gb at a time
Content Provider Itchigo Posted January 16, 2014 Author Content Provider Share Posted January 16, 2014 Thanks! I like overkill, but my pc isn't dedicated to the pin. It runs the pin externally from across the room. I extend screens via hotkey to play, and duplicate to use my desktop monitor.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted May 1, 2014 Author Content Provider Share Posted May 1, 2014 Here's my latest update, something I've been wanting to do. I really disliked the big lockdown bar for the sake of adding a control panel on it, so I made a fold under one. Folds under the cab when not in use, then 2 pins lock it in place and plug it in. Cam2000
That's a brilliant update! I'm going to have to borrow this idea and make changes to mine sometime.
Content Provider Itchigo Posted May 4, 2014 Author Content Provider Share Posted May 4, 2014 ©Roguepinball.. (jk). Now that I see it again, I could have used an old traytable... I'm no WM when it comes to working with wood but I had this concept from the start. I just never got around to it. I kind of botched the front panel so I didn't care about screwing something into it. Decently sturdy with a joystick unless you're very drunk.
