fourbanks Posted February 26, 2025 Posted February 26, 2025 Can anyone here please confirm they have a working CCC table following on from a Microsoft update windows 24h2 many thanks
makmak Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 Dont know if it was exactly THAT update, but i had a similar experience. I can live without CCC, no interest to try installing again , tried twice without success.

LynnInDenver Posted March 6, 2025 Posted March 6, 2025 There were some changes to core.vbs in the 10.8 update that prevents P-ROC from connecting. Some have set up a script to replace core.vbs with the older one when launching CCC, and then replacing with the newer one once done.

True but now the problem is Windows 11 24H2 doesn't like Python 2.7. Too outdated and won't allow it to run.

fourbanks Posted March 6, 2025 Author Posted March 6, 2025 Many thanks cliffy for the update. yes, it looks like CCC will only run with a new update of python. i did try a new build, but that's not the answer as it's not part of the main installer of P-ROC

The real issue now is python 2.7 is no longer secure in windows 11 so the proc stuff will need to be reworked to work with python 3.x
jarr3 Posted December 2, 2025 Posted December 2, 2025 I am using Win 11 IoT LTSC on my cabinet. Installed proc and CCC this WE without any problem.

jarr3 Posted December 4, 2025 Posted December 4, 2025 I am using Win 11 Pro 25H2 (Build 26200.7309) on my main computer. Installed proc and CCC this morning without any problem!
scoobie1 Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 Thanks for this however when I used Pinup Baller installer, my x86 versions of vpx (all versions) are corrupt. This is why I get errors when launching any table with any 32bit version of vpx. So I would need to uninstall everything and manually install everything just to get CCC working. Since all my other tables and programs are running well with x64 versions, this seems extreme just for one table. So, I plan to sit this one out for now. I appreciate the link, though.

I am ONLY using x64, there is not any VPX flipper tables needing x86 anymore (what I am aware of)
digitalarts Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 ...and p-roc isn't only CCC... there are few more nice Tables to Play. Gremlins, Knight Rider,...

Those still will only work with 32 bit vpx and vpinmame. However if folks would just use vpinballx.starter it would all be seamless, once configured. However, I still get the same python 2.7 crash out trying CCC in windows 11 25H2

I swear I tried the workaround method several times earlier this year and could never get it to work with my x64 vpx. I wonder if it has anything to do with installing everything with Baller installer and not each program manually. I used Baller this time as I had a system crash and had to reinstall everything earlier this year.
digitalarts Posted December 6, 2025 Posted December 6, 2025 (edited) @Cliffy you're so right! Vpinballx.starter is THE solution for almost ALL complicated vpx and/or vpinmame table/Release/version issues. Jarr3 should get a gold medal for this 👍 Edited December 6, 2025 by digitalarts

I have updated the original VPinballX.starter post in the thread by @digitalarts where I have added a sample configuration which I am using for CCC. Do NOT just copy them over, rather inspect the lines and update to your paths/preference. I have for example used Baller installer initially, but have moved all other components into separate folders. So I cannot use the automatic upgrade feature of Baller.

Rather it seems like your C:\Pinball\P-ROC\games\cactuscanyon folder is having a problem. When I run the P-ROC_Offline_Installer-v3.4, it unpacked all files into c:\Python27\ + c:\P-ROC\*, so your installation doesn't look like the "standard" installation. I verified the missing key 'quote_beerMug', and it should be defined in P-ROC\games\cactuscanyon\assets.py:

However, even with the original folder structure I had exactly the same error and all files are there and pointers are looking in the right place. Mike even sent me his wav's to be sure it wasn't a corruption issue. Still same result. It all sucks because all my proc tables were working fine until win 11 24h2, and now 25h2. Searching the same error in python related forums shows that 2.7 is just too outdated and microsoft see's it as insecure since windows 11. It will still work fine in windows 10 but that ship sailed long ago. Edit- Just so we are on the same page I went ahead and uninstalled Mikes installer, python and all, rebooted and installed the original offline installer 3.4. No stops or fails during install and python said all good to go. All folders as yours Richard. Same result, same error. And it's not just CCC but same crash and error with Evil Dead, Gremlins and Total Sickness as well. Edited December 9, 2025 by Cliffy

Definitely not ! it works like a charm. I have this since 2019 running and installed it with the installer numerous times See on Pinball Nirvana cactus-canyon-continued I bought a new PC this summer and instaleld it, and still working. it has Windows 11 25H2 as well. It looks more like a system variable on @Cliffy machine will point to another directory or what ever. We did some checks on his machine and I gave him a modified modified base.py that would skip the beermug array if it could not find it, and it crashed on another sound file.
