Ledwiz + Blower

Hi all,

I'm about to add a blower to my pincab. it's a attwood turbo 4000 SII.

what is the best way to implement this with the Ledwiz, do i need a 12 volt relay for this to work or can i just hook it up to the ledwiz..

Hope some can help me out here.

Cheers!

Martijn

The vendor recommends a 5 amp fuse, which i installed so you need a relay or a zeb booster board.

I have a booster board, i personally don't like relays because the noise they produce when onoff, also we use fading up and down or 50% intensity, i heard relays works better when they receive full power signal

Speaking of fading...I love the relays for the sounds. Strobes sound like real strobes...I use them on gear motor, strobes, fan, beacons and knocker. I have h-bridge on shaker. Anyways could we get a option in ledwiz tool to globally re move fade per output?

I have only one relay and it is for starting all my electronics when i start my pc, i don't see what is natural to hear clics when toys are on/off

So you have 5 relays for your toys? I have one booster board for my high powered toys, that's easier to mount, cheaper, and fadings are great :)

I even wonder if without fading, but just a low intensity like i16, how does the delay react?

now it is S38 I24 fd2000 for the fan, try it like this first, then test S38 I16 fd2000 to see if it still work.

This was for an attwood 4000, perhaps for an attwood you will need to increase the intensity to have a good effect, to I36 or no intensity so it is put at i48 by default

Arngrim, is there a way to pulse a output once it is triggered? I am hooking up a bell type doorbell to the knocker to get a little more of the "you won" effect and instead of one quick ring I was thinking of 3 quick pulses. The other option would be to put the knocker on a m600 timer ... what do you think?

I just parsed the directoutputconfig.ini file and here are the rom names that support the fan

afm

apollo13

bguns

br

gw

hook

i500

mm

nf

rctycn

sttng

swtril43

twst

whirl

ww

.

I also added the fan and beacons to the knocker trigger for each table with a m1200 timer it works really well for the "You WON" effect

Yeah man ... so when you get a match or high score or any other event that triggers the knocker, you really "feel" like you won something and anyone watching will know also. A lot of times I don't realize that I have won a free game because I don't look up much at the second and third screens.

Of course if your knocker knocks so much, you can't distinguish a free game..

And m1200 for a knocker?? The only interest for a knocker is the knock, so a pulse of the toy, having it triggered more than 1 second will not bring anything more than consuming watts, i would recommend a fixed duration

Ok so say for example the knocker is set for S7 ... what I am doing is also setting the the fan and beacon for the same S7 with a m1200 time, so the knocker is not doing anymore than the rom is calling for. Now I have decided that a simple knock is not enough so on the same relay I have attached a bell also. My wife and I love the effect but it is a little quick. So I was thinking ..is there a way to make the knocker/bell fire multiple times for each call of the S7 from the rom?

Alright I think I can make that work ... here is a link for a picture of the doorbell I purchased for a cheap $7 and aslo is a link to a video of them (fan beacon bell knocker) working. When my wife puts in the quarters it gives 2 credits for LotR. Give it a watch

Ok arngrims suggestion seems to make the bell ring like I want it to but the knocker does not like the blink command as now I can barely hear it ... I mean it hits softer I think.

Going to try your suggestion of the S7 1000 3 gtxjoe ... thank you

to test your changes easily, temporarily replace S7 with a swtich # that is activated when a target, bumper or sling gets hit.  For example if you have a droptarget called DT1 look for Sub DT1_Hit() and see what switch it uses.  If it uses switch 20, then change S7 to W20 temporarily

Play the table, hit ESC, select debug, then you can right click on that target and select hit.

Oh sweet man thanks ... fun to play and get a event though ...

So 1000 was a little too long so 700 seems to be the magic number so 700 3 makes the trigger event hit for .7 of a second 3 times .... that is exactly what I was looking for ... Awesome thank you

I do not have Taxi .. looks to be the 131st table on my cabinet. ;-)

Also the changes to Twister are so awesome the wife and I both had to put a sweatshirt on because it blows so much.. I dis take the timer to 3000 and got rid of the fade down and intensity to 34, that setting actually will stop the fan with the tornado on the playfield better and not run all the time.

Thanks guys for the help.

Funny thing on the bell as I was at Lowe's and they are on clearance says it needs a low voltage transformer (not included) I decided for $7 if I burn it up oh well .... tested it with my 12v battery for a good 30 min on and off and also bent the arm so it hit lower on the bell and a little farther away ... anyhow it really reminds me of the classic arcades where everytime you turn around there is a buzzer or bell going off ... lol or maybe that is the casinos
