OldCrankyBmullz Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 (edited) in a 3 screen setup, I can't get the "backglass" to work. I've created the alias. I've put the 3 screen b2s in the tables folder along with the vpx table. The star_tours folder is in the pupvideos folder. The Full DMD is displaying, but the "backglass" is a grey screen. I also ran the .bat file for the 3 screen option- just in case- but still no display. Running using 10.8 64bit Is the Puppack using the "Backglass" screen? or is it named something else that may be hidden on my default setup? I know the Munsters tables Puppaks was using the "Music" screen as the full DMD which took me a while to figure out. Also, there doesn't seem to be any media included in the current download.( i.e, wheel, backglass, or dmd image). just FYI. Edited September 26, 2024 by OldCrankyBmullz
OldCrankyBmullz Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Okay, playing around with this for a while and I got the Backglass working. Windows UAC was blocking the pupinit.bat file. Not sure why as all my other pup tables work just fine. Anyway, great table. Thanks for all the work put into this, I really like it.
shaker Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Hi; Does anyone know where I can find "Star Tours.directb2s"? It's not in the download package.. Thanks! - Mark
kcirrick Posted December 20, 2024 Author Posted December 20, 2024 I've been working on 2.0 so haven't been around. I'm sure you've found it by now, but the directb2s' are in the puppack options folder.

Did you unblock the zip file before you unzipped it? Make sure there are no blocked dll files in your vpinmame folder. (Unlikely, but worth checking.) You are not using a GL version of VPX are you? I notice you are using VPX - v10.8.0 Beta. ( I’ve read about memory issues similar to what you are experiencing with the beta version.) Highly recommend upgrading VPX to v10.8 RC7 https://github.com/vpinball/vpinball/releases/tag/v10.8.0-2046-043fac7 Other things you might check: (That may not have anything to do with this particular issue, but are recommended) B2S server is version 2.1.2 or better PinUpPlayer is 1.5 VLC is not a version above 2.8

Edited March 18, 2025 by serclaudio

To do so, view the table's script and change the following lines: Const cGameName = "star_tours" 'kcirrick to ‘Const cGameName = "star_tours" 'kcirrick (just adding that single quote at the front to comment it out) and change: 'Const cGameName = "alpok_f6" 'French to Const cGameName = "alpok_f6" 'French (just removing that single quote at the front so it is no longer commented out) Compile the script. Then initiate the game in VPX. (You won’t have any backglass or fulldmd.) Press F1 and ensure Show DMD/Display and Use external DMD boxes are not checked then exit the game. Now edit the script again and change those lines back the way they were. ‘Const cGameName = "star_tours" 'kcirrick back to Const cGameName = "star_tours" 'kcirrick and Const cGameName = "alpok_f6" 'French back to ‘Const cGameName = "alpok_f6" 'French Compile the script, pull the game up in VPX and have fun!
kcirrick Posted March 19, 2025 Author Posted March 19, 2025 I’m sorry you are still having issues and I understand if you want to give for now or at least until you build your cabinet. This leads me to a question. Are you running a desktop system with a single screen or are you running a two screen system? For a desktop system, if you run Option 3 – Desktop.bat it will copy the appropriate screens.pup, triggers.pup and playlists.pup to the root of your Star Tours folder. It will also copy PinUpPlayer.ini, PuPDesktopPunch.exe and pupinit.bat to the root of your Star Tours folder. For the desktop version you must manually copy the appropriate Star Tours.directb2s and Star Tours.res from the Option 3 – Desktop folder into your Tables folder. For a two screen system, if you run Option 2 – Two Screen.bat it will copy the appropriate screens.pup, triggers.pup and playlists.pup to the root of your Star Tours folder. PinUpPlayer.ini, PuPDesktopPunch.exe and pupinit.bat are NOT USED for a two screen system. You must manually copy the appropriate Star Tours.directb2s from the Option 2 - Two Screen folder into your tables folder. Star Tours.res is NOT USED for a two screen system. For a three screen system, if you run Option 3 – Three Screen.bat it will copy the appropriate screens.pup, triggers.pup and playlists.pup to the root of your Star Tours folder. PinUpPlayer.ini, PuPDesktopPunch.exe and pupinit.bat are NOT USED for a three screen system. You must manually copy the appropriate Star Tours.directb2s from the Option 1 – Three Screen folder into your tables folder. Star Tours.res is NOT USED for a three screen system. Thousands of people have downloaded and are enjoying Star Tours so the table and pup-pack do work. If you want to continue to work on getting Star Tours running just post and I will respond.
serclaudio Posted March 20, 2025 Posted March 20, 2025 Ho 3 monitor funzionanti in Vpx. Ho provato più volte tutti e 3 i bat, con e senza b2s. Comunque il tavolo funziona, non è essenziale il PupPack. Farò altre prove, grazie ! 👍
kcirrick Posted March 20, 2025 Author Posted March 20, 2025 Glad you're at least enjoying the table. It's much more fun with the pup-pack so if you have any questions in the future let me know. 😉
Wojima Posted July 11, 2025 Posted July 11, 2025 I recently installed this table and everything loads correctly (Backglass/DMD) but the table itself immediately crashes and disappears after loading

I haven't been around for a while. Often what fixes this issue is running the table without the pup-pack and then running it with the pup-pack. The following instructions should be in the readme.txt file included with the table. Load the table in VPX, but do not start the table View the script and change: Const cGameName = "star_tours" 'kcirrick to ‘Const cGameName = "star_tours" 'kcirrick (just adding that single quote to comment it out) and change: 'Const cGameName = "alpok_f6" 'French to Const cGameName = "alpok_f6" 'French (just removing that single quote so it is no longer commented out) Compile the script. For future reference, if you post on the tables download page comments rather than here in the forums, the chances of getting a helpful response is much greater.😉

It's rare, but a few other people have had this same issue. The fix was originally suggested by another community member. I don't know how or why it works, but it does. Enjoy!
