Ok then it's not starting at all.  Are you running desktop, cabinet or VR?

I'm on Desktop. Sorry no, cabinet, but just not in a cabinet yet. 2 screen. Nvidia 1650 (upgrading soon), drivers refreshed. Windows 11. All software is current as can be. I even installed Freezy to see if that changed anything, as per a user on facebook.

Oh and I have exclusive fullscreen disabled

Dont use GL for desktop. GL doesn't allow multiple windows on a single screen. Only use the DX version of vpx and make sure your vpx prefs are set to windowed fullscreen, NOT exclusive fullscreen, for the same reason.

Have you run b2s screen identifier which will save your particular screen layout in the b2stablesettings.xml? I'm grabbing at straws because I do not have a cab and do not use vpx GL. I do know, however, that your system needs to know which screens are assigned to what function, ie, playfield, backglass, dmd et al.

Yeah I have done that as well. I too have been grasping at straws. Everything should be working as-is, which I think is why no one can help me. I only recently tried the GL version. A few tables run slightly better, but otherwise I dont notice a difference.

I am buying a new video card soon, and fear I might have to do alot of tweaking, in which case I might just start from scratch and see if that helps. Either that or im just gonna stick to my current build, which has over 140 tables I really enjoy.

Thanks for the help thus far.

@r3trogear  I'm in the exact same boat as you, other than I'm running a 3 screen cab.  I've got well over a hundred tables that work great, and I'm always able to find the dmd and get it positioned correctly.  This game, as well as VPW's SpongeBob and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are particular ones I'd really like to play, but all have the same issue with the dmd unable to be found.  No idea wht the issue could be other than they aren't compatible with the newest versions of Flexdmd or something.

Honestly, im glad im not the only one. I have asked in every forum, indivdual support pages like here, and on facebook. I either get a basic response to try things I have already tried (which I still appreciate) or i get no answers at all. Since updating to the latest VPX, which is neccessary for alot of new tables, I have the problem across anything with Flexdmd.

Maybe we can both get some answers here finally.

What exactly are your software versions? You said they are "current" but please list exact version numbers for VPX, B2S, Vpinmame, Flexdmd and DMDext

no DMD ext. it wouldnt allow to resize my DMDs independently on the horizontal and vertical, only sizing it proportionally, so I reverted back. that doesnt jive with my 2 screen system, unless I missed something. VPX is 10.8.0 final, Flex is 1.9.1, PinMAME is 3.6 and b2s is 2.1.5.1

Are you sure DMDdevice64.dll is working and registered?

You should reinstall DMDext 64bit version, free resizing is also possible with that, but first you need to have a DMD to resize in the first place.

yes working and registered. I reinstalled it and reregistered last week. Flex still didnt work with DMDext installed. Non flex (classic orange DMDs) had no free resizing. only proportional sizing. Now im wondering if I can right click on my DMD and see if theres a aspect ratio option for resixing to ignore it, after installing DMDext?

well I just fudged something up. VBS script errors. No process asscoaited with this object when trying to run Batman (data East) 1.06. I installe DMDext and it didnt fix anything again. reverted back with my backed up files, and now nothing works...
