I actually got the idea for this video a fews months ago, but didn't get around to making it. This video merges the logo from the game with the intro to the 1950s kids TV show, "Space Patrol." I'm not old enough to have ever watched this show, but I am old enough to have read old issues of Mad Magazine where they are merciless to this type of garbage TV for kids. But I guess it was pretty popular at the time. There are two versions of this video. A long version that runs 29 seconds and includes the bumper ad for Nestle's Quik and Nestle's chocolate bars and a short version that ends just after the announcer says "Space Patrol" the second time and is only 19 seconds. I've put the 29 second version on my machine because I love the stupid little ad, but I know it's way too long as a loading screen for many of you. -

Format: 1080p60 This video is a collaboration between DALL-E and me (and of course, the original artist who made this game's backglass). There are some tables that it's not easy to animate the existing artwork, so sometimes I try something different. this is one of those times. The video is made from the logo and the astronaut pictured on the backglass, but the background layers are generated by DALL-E with some prompting by me. Open AI has recently added a tool that allows you to generate more of a picture that you've already generated and this is what allowed me to create the long background pictures needed to create the parallax. I gave DALL-E a small sample from the backglass (see below) and then created three background layers. For the front layer, I used the prompt "1970's sci-fi other-worldly patterns." For the middle layer, I used the prompt "1970's sci-fi other-worldly landscape." For the rear layer, I used the prompt "1970's sci-fi other-worldly landscape against a dark sky." In all three cases, as the picture gets further from the original sample, DALL-E starts to get more "creative," but overall, I am happy with the effect of each of the layers. The music is "Time" by the Alan Parsons Project. This song is from a few years after the table, but fits really well with the vibe.
