Cant register / assign cab button to Tweak Menu (F12)

Hi experts. On the latest 10.8 RC 64-bit version I can't for the life of me get the tweak button (default F12) to work as a cabinet button. F12 opens the vpinmame volume, so I changed it to another keyboard button, and it works with a keyboard, but assigning a a USB controlled button just dosent work. I tried several just to rule out faulty wiring, but everything seems to work fine. 

So: hitting the tweak menu button on the keyboard = works. Hitting the cab button assigned to the tweak menu in VPX key settings = does nothing. 

Any leads..?

Sorry, can someone please explain where the f12 option is set in VPX? When I press F12 all I get is vpinmame volume (see -32  to 0). I have looked at the keys/nudge/dof setting in VPV and nowhere is f12 defined. Is there a specific "button" I need to set?

F12 is a 10.8 feature that brings up the Camera menu, and allows access to other adjustment menus if provided by the table authors.

yeah i just installed a new button, and tried a bunch of different keystrokes. it works perfect on a keyboard, but it will NOT work when assigned to a cab button...

Same issue here - even with latest 10.8.0 (1942)...

 

Actually, so have the same issue with the Pause key setup as well.  I suspect it's a bug because those same buttons work fine for other functions.

 

Would love to get this working though...

guys, I think there is a bug in 10.8 RC3 that sets the Tweak Menu to 'backspace'... I found it today after mine didnt work after updating to RC3... even if I back-rev'd

Figured out it's the keys that are not pinmame (F11 not responding too)

On VPX v10.8.0 Beta, from the menu "Preferences → Configure Keys, Nudge and DOF", I see the option for the Tweak key, and it works with the F12 key on the keyboard, but not with Gamepad buttons.

 

I was already using AutoHotkey to relaunch PinUpMenu.exe in case it wasn’t running, mapped to a Gamepad button, so I simply added a script to map my Gamepad button 5 to F12.

 

In case anyone finds it useful, here it is:

}

Same issue here. Popping up the overlay menu in VR works fine with F12 but the assigned controller key pops up the vmame vollume setting.

Has anyone found a solution already? Where can I report this as a bug to the devs team?

anyone figure anything out with this? I dont even have a Tweak option in my Keys/Nudge/DOF to set. im on 10.8.0 beta 7 so I could play certain new tables, and I cant even access options anymore on my keyboard. f12 brings up volume control now. This is frustrating, even moreso now that I have Star Gazer, and I read that the menu has tons of options.

And why would I not have the Tweak option listed in my Key settings??

You sure? Under Keys, nudge and dof settings, lower right corner. Very weird? Defaults to F12. I'm on 10.8 final, no beta, I believe. I changed mine to M, so not to interfere with vpinmame volume settings. but still can't assign it to a cabinet button unfortunately.

Yup, I checked over and over, and even rebooted just for shits and giggles. Its the weirdest thing. It just doenst exist in my settings. Maybe I need to start running the 64bit version of VPX?

Also, now Im having trouble hiding the DMD on games that have bs2 scoring built in, namely Star Gazer.  I wish i never updated to beta 7 just to play a handful of of new tables.

Everything seems broken now, and no settings are saving for me.

Don't use the beta version yet. You should install the stable 2051 version (January 2025), while you are at it also check that you are updated to the latest b2s (2.1.5) and Vpinmame (3.7)

 make the 64bit jump man, I did years ago and haven't looked back. Most if not all tables run great on 10.8 64 bit.

Yeah im gonna jump back, and just forget about the 2 or 3 tables that need it. Yeah im quite sure im on latest pinmame and bs2. I updated everything last week. Ill check again though. Thanks for replying

YeahI am gonna do it tomrrow morning. But, its been so many years since I initially installed everything, that Im not sure how to set a different emu in Pinup as of right now.
