RHK Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 I've got an older Pin2DMD XL from German Gaming Supplies. When I connect to 5v, the power supply LED blinks and restarts repeatedly and two LED panels flash a garbled image. Happens w 2 different power supplies, so it's either my board or LED panels. When I disconnect the LED panels, this doesn't happen. Of course, I can't see anything on the displays to see if it boots. When I plug in either of the first two LED panels, it does the same. Continual reset, flashing display. The 3rd panel, when plugged in alone, stays black. The power doesn't reset, but the panel starts smoking What are the chances I can just replace the 3 LED panels and be ok? Anyone seen anything similar before?

Content Provider lucky1 Posted November 23, 2023 Content Provider Posted November 23, 2023 Remove all led panels and check wether the device is recognized on the PC when connected through USB. If it shows up as PIN2DMD chances are good (70%) that only the panels are defective.
