Limit to combining toys?

I’m configuring my DOF LEDs this morning, and finally figured out the “combining” thing, and now they all work, so that’s great. :) But I notice in the ConfigTool that there appears to be a limit of four effects per combo, while in the Pinscape guide there’s actually a recommendation to combine five effects for the back matrix. Is there a reason for the cutoff at four or am I missing something?
