Dark play screen

Hi all, just a quick question, I am a pour old guy who is trying to build a pinball table from scratch. It has taken me several days of frustration and head banging to download a table and see balls rolling around. 
when I say balls rolling it so dark I can’t see them properly, need help, what do I adjust to make the screen lighter.

There is the day/night slider in table properties to brighten the table.

Many authors also us the magnasave keys to change the brightness
