xdoolyx Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 All the new VPX tables coming out are fantastic but the trade off is they are pretty demanding from my system. Looking to upgrade my graphics card to help keep up and reduce stutter/lag. I am currently running: Dell OptiPlex 7040 SFF Desktop PC intel Core i5 6500 @3.4GHz, 16GB DDR4 RAM 512GB SSD, Windows 10 Pro, NVIDIA GT1030 2GB Can anyone one recommend a good upgrade that is compatible with the rest of my system? Not looking to break the bank with the highest end product. Thanks!
Cliffy Posted October 17, 2023 Posted October 17, 2023 I would say a geforce 1060 6gb or a 1660 6gb (what I'm running now) will be about as good as you'll get for that PC. A 6GB video card will make all the difference and won't be the bottleneck.
Rich_in_Paradise Posted October 23, 2023 Posted October 23, 2023 A GTX1050 Ti will double your current RAM to 4GB, this would likely be your minimum upgrade. although you don't say what rez/refresh rate you want to run at
xdoolyx Posted December 19, 2023 Author Posted December 19, 2023 I went with a geoforce 1660 6GB, seems to be working great. Definitely a noticeable difference. A few stutters here and there on tables like no fear or rollercoaster tycoon but i've been playing with my vpx setting to work through that.
