Hello all. I want to start using pup packs because I think they are very interesting and a cool addition to the regular tables but I'm having a hell of a time trying to get everything working together. The biggest problem so far is Freezy.

Honestly I don't really know what the purpose of Freezy is or what it does.

Anyway, I'm watching Nailbuster's video on installing Pinup player and pup packs and he said you need to have Freezy running correctly before installing anything else.

So my question is how do I know if Freezy is running correctly? I have a 3 screen set up with a PinDmd3 and have never used Freezy and all the VPX tables I have run great without it. Please help out a rookie in understanding all of this. Thanks so much.

If you have a pindmdv3, you definitely wants dmdext.

Why ?

I have a pindmdv3 as well, and dmdext provides to display virtual pinball to my real dmd.

Most is done via dmddevice.dll,  but for emulators that doesnt work with this dll( like FP, pinball fx3, the pinball arcade etc), you can usecthe exe filecas well.

This can capture the 'virtual dmd' and put it on my real dmd. Even for fx3 and tpa it does do a memory grab of the dmd and put it on the real dmd.

And another big benefit (if you like it), it can be used with colored scenes and palletes, so your 4 color dmd in games can be showed as a full colored dmd (for 64 colors, you need to do a firmware upgrade of your real dmd).

Also FlexDmd (that can also be used for ultradmd) is using the dll's from dmdext as well to show anything.

Nailbusters pupplayer uses dmdext as well, to receive triggers from the rom, so the correct videos will be displayed (and maybe score, but I don't know all the ins and outs)

And last but not least, alphanumeric displays can be showed as individual segmets as virtual dmd, twhich looks very awesome (and must better as the backglass displays). And these segmets are configurable,  so you can adjust as you like,

Thats my opinion to use Freezy's dmdext, hope it helps
