Content Provider lucky1 Posted February 25, 2023 Content Provider Posted February 25, 2023 First of all which PIN2DMD hardware do you have ? https://pin2dmd.com/hardware/ Does anything show up in the windows device manager when you connect the pin2dmd ? What does show up ? 5 hours ago, willyf said: I installed stm32 and when I click on connect, the same is not recognized What do you mean with stm32 ? The ST-Link utility ? To make a dump you need the pin2dmd.exe tool from my github https://github.com/lucky01/PIN2DMD/tree/master/tools
willyf Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 hi I have a nucélo f429ZI it is not recognized in the device manager, there is nothing, even when I plug it into the pc, there is no search that is done I installed St-link and pin2dmd.exe thank you
willyf Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 hi when I try to install the driver, I don't have the line with pin2dmd offered thank you for your help

Did you try a different cable or a different USB port on your PC ? 1 hour ago, willyf said: hi when I try to install the driver, I don't have the line with pin2dmd offered thank you for your help Did you enable "list all devices" in options ?
willyf Posted February 26, 2023 Author Posted February 26, 2023 I tried several cables, I also connected to the 2 usb sockets and I activated "list all devices" but nothing worked
Content Provider lucky1 Posted February 26, 2023 Content Provider Posted February 26, 2023 No need to connect the other USB socket on the Nucleo. It is only used for programming. Did you change the USB port on the PC ? Did you try a different PC ? Could you make a screenshot of the Windows "Device Manager" ? Does the device manager refresh when you disconnect and connect the pin2dmd ?
willyf Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 hi I tested the display on another computer but it's the same: when you plug or unplug the display, nothing happens on the device manager thank you
Rappelbox Posted February 27, 2023 Posted February 27, 2023 because you use the wrong port, that one is only used for flashing the firmware.
Content Provider lucky1 Posted February 27, 2023 Content Provider Posted February 27, 2023 Strange thing is that I have a group called USB-Controller which you also have named "Controleurs de bus USB" but additionally I have a group called "USB-Devices" with the same USB plug symbol which is missing in your list. Did you install the USB drivers for your motherboard from the manufacturer ?
willyf Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 Salut J'ai testé l'écran sur un autre ordinateur mais c'est pareil : quand on branche ou débranche l'écran, rien ne se passe sur le gestionnaire de périphériques merci
willyf Posted February 27, 2023 Author Posted February 27, 2023 I haven't installed anything, these are probably updates I did new tests on my pinball machine and now when I plug in the pin2dmd, my computer rings (test 2), nothing happens during test 1 What must I do now? THANKS
Content Provider lucky1 Posted February 27, 2023 Content Provider Posted February 27, 2023 1er Test is the correct connection You need to power your pin2dmd with 5V from a external power supply to use it. The controller is NOT powered through USB . The LED panels draw too much current !
willyf Posted February 28, 2023 Author Posted February 28, 2023 hi Thanks to you all for your help by plugging in as you told me, I was able to update however, I still have a problem: when I run pin2dmd.exe, I get the message here is the version I have should I install something else? thank you
Content Provider lucky1 Posted February 28, 2023 Content Provider Posted February 28, 2023 That´s a communication problem. Is the device activated ? If yes maybe downgrade the winusb driver using zadig utility and/or change the cable.
willyf Posted March 1, 2023 Author Posted March 1, 2023 that's it, I managed to install the zadig driver now i can change the light intensity of the display to do a dump, I connect the display to the flipper, launch color prism2dmd, select bally/williams, select create dump file and choose the folder after a few seconds, I have a first message: then a few seconds later I have a second message I tried on my no good gofers and on my creature from the black lagoon and it's the same thing do you have any idea what i am doing wrong thank you
Content Provider lucky1 Posted March 1, 2023 Content Provider Posted March 1, 2023 Did you try the 64bit version of pin2dmd.exe ? Try running it as admin ?
willyf Posted March 2, 2023 Author Posted March 2, 2023 hi it is the 64bit version that is installed and I installed it as administrator
Content Provider lucky1 Posted March 2, 2023 Content Provider Posted March 2, 2023 Then please try the 32bit version
willyf Posted March 3, 2023 Author Posted March 3, 2023 that's it, it works I installed the 32-bit version, but this one worked less well than the 64-bit version suddenly, I put the 64 bits back and despite a few stops, I manage to make dumps I start or at least try to colorize my pinball machines and will put the results on the site thank you for your help... willy
