Newbie with DirectOutput

Good evening guys, I'm starting to play with this program. I would go step-by-step to make it work. To simply see the written Plugin Setting (that is to see which output is actually working) is it enough for me to have the DirectOutput folder in c:\ and the plugins shortcut inside Tables ? Or do I have to configure everything?

I've already checked Activate Plugins, but I can't click on Plugin settings.
