Bootlegger Dave has gone broke!

I feel like this is great news for the general vpx community.

 

Don't buy  from people who sell bootleg content. They are shady people and can take your money and run with it, as has happened in this instance. There are quite a number of people who paid money to him, got nothing and now he's gone under... i'd be very surprised if anyone gets any money back.  The facebook group has been deleted, and the business phones are also disconnected, leaving a whole bunch of people having paid machine deposits with nothing.

Given that this has happened, if you see him setup another operation or the bootleg software platform stays up and charges money, or it shows up anywhere else. Please report it here. Given they have gone under like this, they are not allowed to open another company to continue the same operations and whitewash the debt of the old one. Which is always a possibility in a setup like this. There's technically nothing stopping them doing it, but unless people are paid back the money they are owed, then we can report it to ASIC if they try to shift operations to a new company.

Sad thing is most of the people who got robbed by him, are usually asking for help here with their technical problems, as I am sure he had no tech support.

And that is how they find out they just got robbed.

He may have finally gotten pinched and/or sued. I know he’s been on the radar of a few game studios….The drives he sold  (I assume came on machines also) also had a plethora of movies and copyrighted albums. 

 

Who knows though. He seemed a special kind of dumb in thinking he could do anything he pleased in that manner.

Good! I can't BELIEVE I was actually going to order one from him. I am so glad I didn't and going the Atgames Legends Pinball way instead! Dave seems to be such a scummy guy who will run away once you've gotten your item. Hopefully this means other sites who do this like that Xtreme one who also does the pinball machines.

 

Apparently via the video @NoobPin put up, one guy went to the store that "dave" (IF that is his real name) and it was shut down, yet there were Vpin machines, driving machines, Guitar Hero ripoff machines etc all there and most of them were boxed up ready to ship out!

 

Edit: SEEMS like he might have gotten back up and running, when I was looking for stuff for my AtGames Legends Pinball mods, this showed up!

 

Says "2TB SSD VPX" from a company called "Rcades".
