gubbin
I bought a used Pin2dmd 2nd hand from a fellow VPU user. I have a full size cab with an LCD full DMD. My plan here is to use pin2dmd on a spare PC with desktop mode as a way to test colorization projects. I feel like I'm missing something silly but I cannot get it to register/show content with VPX / popper. I updated to the latest firmware last night via the SD card. I have the latest Lucky1 .dll extensions installed. Windows is showing a pin2dmd winusb device attached. External DMD is enabled from the F1 menu inside VPX. The .ini file shows pin2dmd = true (i've tried both true and native). I even completely blew out Pinup popper and re-installed it.
Content Provider lucky1 Posted October 12, 2022 Content Provider Share Posted October 12, 2022 Please try the following: - install the dmddevice.dll and pin2color.dll files in your pinmame folder - start setup.exe - click test - choose a dmd table - go into game options - set "use external DMD" - run the test

Content Provider lucky1 Posted October 13, 2022 Content Provider Share Posted October 13, 2022 ... and no output on the pin2dmd ? Could you attach your dmddevice.log
gubbin
@lucky1 yeah, nothing on the pin2dmd. Is it supposed to generate a log every time, even for the test? I noticed it doesn't show the batman game I loaded last night but it does show an attempt with star wars? DmdDevice.log
Content Provider lucky1 Posted October 13, 2022 Content Provider Share Posted October 13, 2022 Looking at you logfile it seems that pin2dmd is not enabled in the dmddevice.ini Please check [pin2dmd] ; if false, doesn't bother looking for a PIN2DMD enabled = true You should something like [13] 2022/10/09 14:17:18.721 INFO | Found PIN2DMD device. [13] 2022/10/09 14:17:18.732 INFO | Added PIN2DMD renderer. in the dmddevice.log then
gubbin
DmdDevice.ini I've triple checked that and it appears to be there
Content Provider lucky1 Posted October 13, 2022 Content Provider Share Posted October 13, 2022 Then it seems to be a USB problem. Could you post a screenshot of your device manager ? Make sure you have only connected the USB port next to the ethernet on the Nucleo and PIN2DMD is listed under "USB Devices" in the device manager.
