lineman88 Posted August 31, 2022 Posted August 31, 2022 Hi, Total newbie to Virtual Pinball -putting together my first build and can't figure out were to install the fuses. I read MJR pinscape guide - still confuse. I'm controlling my solenoids, motors and beacons with an LEDWIZ connected to a Sainsmart relay board. The 12 V power for the toys will of course becoming from the 12 volts supplied to the relay board. Where does the fuse go? Does it go between the Sainsmart board and the toy? Or does it go between the LEDWIZ board and the Sainsmart board? It seems intuitive that if the toy malfunctioned and drew too much power, you would want the fuses closest to the toy . Is that correct? Does the fuse then protect just the Sainsmart board and not the LEDWIZ? I'm not sure what I'm protecting from what! Am I protecting the LEDWIZ from the Sainsmart board? Or am I protecting the Sainsmart from the motors and solenoids? Thanks for any help/advise - I'm confused.
Max33 Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 Between the sainsmart relay board's output port and the feedback device. No need for fuses if your using an ATX PSU as they have built in overload protection. Fuse section of pinscape guide
