Dipkid Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Hi guys. annoying little problem here. I have a newly built cab with 7.1 SSF. (2.1 backbox speakers & sub + 2 mini amps with 4 exciters) Latest version of baller installer, stable 10.7 vpx version and latest version of popper installed. Problem: A bunch of my vpx tables have the flipper sounds coming from the wrong direction / exciters. Popper itself, for example, has the rear left exciter goin of when Im klicking the right flipper to scroll through tables. So I thought, I'll just switch the speaker cables to the amp, maybe I connected them wrong first time around. But before I did that I fired up the new Blood Machines table, and whattyaknow, there the sounds direction are correct. On AC/DC & MM-Upgrade, left is right etc. Some tables uses all four exciters at the same time, and some works as intended. I cant really identify the common denominator.. Maybe I messed something up in the realtek audio control setup? I know not all tables supports SSF, but I have slowly redownloaded most of my tables so I have fairly new builds of the most popular downloads. Anywho, any tips and suggestions are highly appreciated. / In advance thanks, Mattias
Thalamus Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 From your description - it sounds very much like your on the track of needing to swap left for right. What I find odd though, is that you say you hear audio from all exciters at the same time. Are you sure ? Normally. Any playsound without any direction, should play the sound between the flippers, and the coin door - only. I advice you however, if you have any HDMI connected. Disable its audio devices and reboot. That at least is a good start.

I don't trust my ears, so I put my hands on the side of the cab when I'm doing the test sounds in realtek. I'll dig around some more.. Will swap cables first. pretty sure the PF-screen audio is disabled. cheers
Thalamus Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Ah. One suggestion is to start Knorr/Kent version of Star Trek TNG. Why ? Because when you start the table, there are these 3 balls that is ejected and shot out at start. The SSF is excellent on that one and you should clearly hear that only the right side is active going from the shooter/plunger and back to the lock.
Dipkid Posted April 19, 2022 Author Posted April 19, 2022 Welp, not only was my left and right mixed up, but I had also mixed up the side vs rear order 🙄. didn't want to mess up anything further so I let all the cables to the motherboard stay put and just switched the speaker cables.. (And I was pretty impressed with my sound even before I fixed it..😅) Now it works as intended , I even called the missus down the basement, "look, you can hear where the ball is without even looking!" I fired up the star trek table, and that sounded SO good.(also resetted PinVol & deleted the table.ini, I had messed up a lot of levels..)🙏
Thalamus Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Happy to hear that. SSF is the best addition to my cab - as essential as the regular tilt bob
