FLEXDMD not playing video files (everything else seems to be working)

I just downloaded tartzani's awesome "BountyHunter" table and enabled FlexDMD support.

While it shows all the static images, none of the video files play: I just get a black screen.

 

I have a few tables with FlexDMD support (Dark Crystal, Last Unicorn, Masters of the Universe), and as far as I can tell, none of them use video files, so I never noticed a problem.

JPSalas' Diablo table has the same problem. The weird thing is, the videos on that table have worked for me before. But I guess that was when I was still using UltraDMD, I haven't tested it since switching to FlexDMD.

I have the latest versions of FlexDMD and Freezy's DMD extensions installed. The WMV video files play just fine when I open them in VLC player or even IrfanView, so it's not a codec problem. When I run FlexDMDUI.exe, everything shows up as registered and working. All the tests in the flexdemo.vpx table work, I can even play the "video mode" game. It just won't play WMV files.

 

My file structure seems to be correct, too:

The tables are in c:\vp\tables

The dmd images and video files are in c:\vp\tables\BountyHunterDMD

 

I will gladly provide screenshots, videos and log files, but maybe someone else has encountered the same problem and there is a simple solution I'm not seeing? Some setting set to "false" instead of "true"?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: Turns out it had nothing to do with any settings in FlexDMD or VPinMAME or VPX... I just managed to somehow screw up my Windows settings.

Bit the bullet and did a clean reinstall (upgrading from Win7 to Win10 in the process), and it's working nicely now.
